First non-manual ultra wide angle
My previous lens in this range was a 10mm f/2.8 which I never could manage to get focused properly. The Pentax lens is significantly more costly but will focus accurately and quickly. I'm still leaning the characteristics of the lens but so far I'm very happy with it.

Complementing its lens specs is its optical design, which incorporates a series of aspherical and extra-low dispersion elements that significantly reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations as well as control distortions and color fringing to improve sharpness, clarity, and color fidelity. It also features an Aero Bright II Coating for enhanced contrast and color accuracy, and an SP (Super Protect) Coating on the front lens element that repels oil and water. Its internal DC motor offers quick and accurate autofocus while the built-in Focus Clamp system helps lock the focus while you shoot. The quick-shift focusing system enables instant switching between autofocus and manual focus operation. With up to ten special seals around the lens body, this All Weather (AW) lens model is a dependable piece of glass that keeps water and dust away even under difficult shooting conditions.
