I like the range of this lens along with the weather resistance aspect. This lens along with my 50mm-500mm gives me pretty much all the range I need for my photographic needs.

This lens is such a great walk-about lens. The color rendition of this is so pleasing and the contrast wonderful. I've used other systems, but none of my other systems have approached pleasing capability. I also have a third party faster land strong zoom lens usually used for sports, but this one is my main go to lens.

I was looking for an all in one lens for traveling and walking around. I like the colors and the sharpness. This is my first PENTAX lens on my first PENTAX. The K-3II is great with this lens.

This lens is sharper than I was expecting, excellent color and contrast. A little distortion at the wide end, but easily fixable. A good walkaround lens

That's right, not to big, and not to small. I used the 18-55 kit lens for about ten years on my K-100D. However, after moving up to the K-50, I noticed that my old 18-55 was getting a little stiff on the focus-not to mention noisy. Must have had something to do with falling three feet to the ground on the side of the lens. So I pulled the trigger on the 18-135, and I have been very impressed. Very sharp and the extra reach lets me get superb photos of birds and landscapes. It's also a very good a portrait lens...extremely sharp at 40-90 range. Even though it has the same 3.5-5.6 aperture range, it sure does seem to me that I can shoot at much faster shutter speeds than I could with my old lens. All in all, it really woke up my new K-50. If you're hesitating with this product, get off the fence and buy this fantastic lens.

I needed a simple all in one lens with more reach than the standard 18-55 but not as heavy as the 18-200 (which I previously owned and did not like). I use mainly my 35mm and 50mm and while this doesn't compare to those, it's good enough to keep on and enjoy outdoor shots. Indoor I wasn't worried because I can crank up the ISO. Good lens to have in the bag.

I bought this lens to go along with my Pentax K30 for the weather resistant feature. I am loving this lens. I can take the lens out while walking the dog in all weather. I am a "newbie" photographer, but I am interested in tack sharp photos. Despite my beginner status, I have some lovely, sharp looking photos of snow on evergreen trees and my local park. Shout out to Pentax for offering a great product, weather sealed, at a reasonable (for photography hobby anyway) price!

It's weather sealed, auto-focus is fast and quiet. 18-135 range is fantastic for an all around lens. About the only thing this lens isn't good for is moving subjects in low light. If it was an F/2.8, or faster, it'd be perfect but would also cost WAY more. I am very happy with this lens. This lens is really heavy. It seems to weigh nearly as much as the K5ii.

I had read some negative reviews of this lens, primarily in its optics, but I've found the optics more than good enough - certainly good enough for most of the things I want to do with it. The built-in DC motor makes focusing very quiet, and it's pretty quick on my K-30. It's small and compact, with a nice, solid feel. All in all, pretty close to perfect for a travel lens. It may not have a constant f/2.8 aperture, but no zoom lens with as wide a zoom ratio as this ever will.

very good lens not the sharpest lens in the bag, but that is the only knock against it. Very good general lens weather resistant with an amazing build quality puts all but expensive lenses to shame..

I purchased this lens with the Pentax K-30 as a run around camera/lens that I didn't have to worry about on the beach, paddleboarding, etc. Like it a lot, especially the weatherproofing. Easy to understand and use. I chose the white/black model and love the look of it. For sure this combination is not as sharp as what I'm used to with Nikon pro lenses/D3s but I didn't purchase it to use for my business, I wanted something that wasn't heavy and was small enough to fit in my purse at all times. I prefer dslr's to point and shoot and this is a small fun camera to use - video is easy to use too!

This is great lens. Definitely more bells and whistles than a kit lens and pretty versatile. Do I wish it was a 2.8, sure. but it is decent at 3.5 wide open and I find that slowing the shutter down a bit compensates pretty well. Takes really nice pictures.

Great all around lens. Quick focus. Decent range from wide angle to telephoto. Fast enough to freeze action and clear enough for just about any shot.

This lens is fairly heavy making it a challenge at times to hold still especially with slower shutter speeds. Rarely I got some blurred shots but I suspect it was camera shake and not the lens itself. It is a good lens that truly does the job. I purchased it with my K-5 as an upgrade over the kit lens. It is a good fit.

Great all around lens. Size, weight, and focal length coverage are a good compromise when you can only take one lens with you. F-stop is adequate; everyone wants a lower f-stop but then you will be spending more and carrying around a bigger, heavier lens. Auto focus is actually very quick and accurate for a Pentax. Weather sealing makes it worry free on on wet or dusty hikes - it rains here a lot. Lens has a solid feel to it. Great Pentax color. Image quality is not as sharp as lenses that cost twice as much (like a DA* lens); but then they cost twice as much. Image quality is still very good. I have been shooting with it for 6 months; very happy with it.

I really like this lens. For me, it's a perfect everyday walk-around lens. The focal length works great for pretty much everything I use it for (car shows, family gatherings, outdoor scenery). It's lightweight, the auto-focus is fast and quiet, the sharpness and color etc. are quite good for me and it "feels" very well built. It is a little slow (f3.5-5.6) but I knew that when I bought it. Overall a great lens that I'm very happy with.

I wanted a general walk around zoom lens that bridged with focal length overlap at both ends between my wide angle zoom (12-24) and my telephoto zoom (55-300). It fits the bill nicely and would be my first choice as a kit lens rather than the usual 18-55 zoom, which it replaced in my bag. It's a little slow and I wish it had a wider maximum aperture. The auto focus is very quick and very quiet and is not prone to hunting the way some of my other lenses are. I also like the weather resistance. That along with the weather resistance of the body gives me a sense of comfort in inclement weather.
