I rate the lens outstanding. I rate the delivery a ?1?. The ?1? is not Adorama?s fault. I blame UPS. It was delivered out of the Secaucus, NJ UPS facility and that place is a dump. The box the lens came in was slightly crushed as was the main box Adorama shipped it in. I doubt seriously that Adorama would ever ship a box that was crushed to begin with. I used to drive OTR trucking and that UPS center is a nightmare. Thankfully, the lens is pristine and works beautifully. It?s well made and finished. If Adorama could do one thing, that would be to use another shipper.

This lens is opticaly excellent. It's built like a tank. The focal length is a great for street photography. The color rendition is outstanding. The only drawback is the variable aperture.

Agree with earlier reviewers in all regards. Extremely sharp and contrasty and as quiet as billed. CA and fringing on my copy is noticeable at the long end but easily corrected, and is surprisingly low at the short end, unlike my 16-50 DA* which has the worst CA at the short end. I'm not getting rid of the 16-50 (it's a very good specimen) but for travel or any time weight is an issue I will be happy to take the 20-40 instead.

A great lens which deserves it's "Limited" title. While it is an apsc lens, it is capable of working on the full frame K-1. The metal build and weather sealing give this lens the quality expected of a Limited lens. This lens lives on my K3, and sees plenty of use on my K-1 as well.

Quite the odd range, 20-40mm, and not the fastest lens in the universe, but for street photography it is quickly becoming my go-to lens. On the APS-C K-3 (which is what I use), 20mm=30mm full frame. This is a great length for street and events. The lens is very sharp, has beautiful color rendition, and very minor distortion/fringing (which is readily dealt with in Lightroom). It's also weather resistant, and I'm happy to now be able to go out in the rain and shoot. I put the lens on a Pz-1p film camera and did not notice any corner vignetting, so don't let the fact that it is a DA lens concern you too much...I'll have to run a roll of film through it to see what actual photos look like though.

Excellent lens got it to replace my 16-45 mainly because of weather sealing but after using found it to be much sharper than my 16-45. Great color very light and small.

This is a great lens for landscapes! Obviously it's not super wide at 20mm but it does perform within its zoom range. It's very sharp, and extremely well built. Images with this lens, shot on a K3, uprez very very well. I think it has to do with its color rendering and micro contrast. A great deal has been said about the sharp mages from the sigma 18 35, but for landscape where you are likely to be stopped down I believe this to be the better lens ..

Bought this lens to replace my kit 18-55 WR lens when I'm hiking and other cases when I can carry only 1 lens and might need WR. The 20-40 is actually bigger in size than the 18-55 but not by much. I am mostly using it for landscapes. It has better contrast and colors than the 18-55 and might be sharper at the corners. I found I don't miss the extra range of 18-55. Overall, even if it produces better images the difference is not that big so I would not recommend this lens at the current price.
