Modernized Legend
This is an update to one of the legendary Pentax Limited Full-Frame lenses, with the addition of improved modern HD coatings (for less flare) and curved aperture blades. This is an excellent lens, beautiful bokeh, great low-light performance, and that ?Magic Pixie Dust? 3-D effect that combines amazing sharpness with smooth out-of-focus transitions and great color rendition. This is my favorite lens; it is my standard lens on APS-C. Highly recommended

Developed based on the FA Limited Lens series - renowned for their meticulous attention in every detail, from outstanding image rendition to high-quality, machined aluminum bodies - these new lenses are designed to assure even better optical performance than the original Limited-series models. Available in Black and Silver, the HD FA Limited series offers outstanding description of texture, fine reproduction of gradation in highlight areas, faithful reproduction of details, and natural reproduction of the bokeh (defocus) effect.

They have been treated with the PENTAX-original HD coating, which assures much higher light transmittance than conventional multi-layer coatings, delivering sharp, clear images free of flare and ghost images, even under such demanding conditions as backlight. The lenses are treated with the PENTAX-original HD Coating. SP (Super Protect) coating is applied to the front surface of each lens to repel dust and stains.
