I bought these for deer hunting in the thick woods of South Mississippi. The optics are second to none and the light transmission is very good...almost transmit as well as my 50mm Nikon rifelscope. The glass in these is crystal clear and very soothing to look through. The contrast seems to be perfect. I will be using these while hunting from a shooting house, looking hundreds of yards up and down a gas pipeline and against thick tree lines. They are going to fit the bill fine and I will likely be glassing for hours with them. Adorama by far had the best price on the 8x...[$]. The best I could find elsewhere was [$]. Although, I did find the 10x for less somewhere else, I think the 8x are more versatile and the best low-light performance is imperative in the areas that I hunt.
