Solidly built and designed to fit snuggly in the camera's hot shoe, it retains all of the functions of on-shoe use without interfering the flip-up flash. This item, though pricey, is worth it for Pentaxians needing off camera flash.

Needed if you want to use both on camera flash and off at the same time. Unless off camera flash is in slave mode then not needed. Looks like all the Pentax digital SLR cameras use this adapter.

I needed a good system of bounce flash for my K10D using my Pentax AF-360 flash. I utilize this system primarily for photographing meetings in ballrooms where the bounce is really needed for background lighting. With this adapter, the problem is solved quite nicely.

Using this with my Pentax K20d and AF540FGZ flash I can use the flash AND the built in popup camera firing both at the same time to give me better distance coverage with a smaller F stop also

I use these Pentax flash connecting accessories when shooting outdoors in bright light and many other applications. I love the versatility of the system and the fact that the on camera flash can be used in conjunction with off camera flash, and still retain full auto capabilities. It's especially useful when the camera is in manual exposure, and then the flash is used on P-TTL (or TTL on older models) to provide fill in high contrast situations.
