The Lightseeker-30 series incorporates the legendary Lightseeker optics housed in a 30mm tube. The Lightseeker-30 series has evolved in response to suggestionsand feedback from some of the most knowledgeable and experienced shooting authorities in North America.
These are serious rifle scopes, developed for serious shooters: bean field shooters in the Deep South, groundhog hunters in the Piedmont, prairie dog hunters of the West, 1000 meter target shooters, or anyone who demands optimum optical and mechanical performance.
The Lightseeker-30 rifle scopes are available with the Ballistic Plex and/or Mil-dot reticles. Both reticles are designed to make you a more accurate shooter.
All Lightseeker-30 scopes, with the exception of the 3x-10x Lightseeker-30, feature a side parallax adjustment. Parallax is the effect created when the image of the target is not focused on the same plane as the reticle, which can cause a loss in accuracy.
While generally not a significant issue in most hunting situations, it can become a factor in target and varmint shooting applications. The side parallax adjustment feature allows for image focusing and parallax correction, ensuring maximum accuracy.
The Ballistic PleXTM reticle (included in this version) is a copyrighted design on the lower vertical crosshair that compensates for bullet drop. The Ballistic Plex reticle is set to provide dead-on aiming from 100 yards to 500 yards for many of the most common hunting cartridges.
The complex science of optics requires attention to the type and quality of glass, design and construction, eye relief, tube alignment, sealing against moisture, and user comfort. No one knows optics better than Pentax. Pentax pioneered multi-layer lens coatings which greatly increase light transmission.
