The next generation apochromat refractors from Pentax... These SD apochromat refractors are not just improved models of the former PENTAX ED's. As the material of the objective lens is newly developed SD (Super Excellent Low Dispersion) glass, which is very similar to fluorite in optical quality .

It is however far more durable and stable. These models achieve ultimate image quality that can never be expected from any other achromat or ED apochromat refractor. Every lens surface is fully Super Multi-Coated (SMC), yielding highest transmission in every wavelength.

The Pentax 75 SDHF all around Telescope with excellent optics, especially usefull for wider field imaging, is a 75 mm SD APO refractor with a built in field flattener. The 2.37 inch (62mm) focuser provides an unvignetted photographic field for both 35mm as well as 6cm X 4.5cm medium format film, and larger CCD-Chip formats.

The field flattener ensures pin point star images right out to the extreme corners of these formats. The SD F6.7 low dispersion doublet provides excellent color correction. It has a rack & pinion smooth focusor with a rubber-coated locking clamp.

The tube color is white with a moss green focuser. Its dimensions are 75mm diameter, 480mm length (when dew cap is drawn in). its Weight is only 2.2 kg and its exceptional compactness make it a great choice for travel.

It is very well built overall, and has a sliding dewshield, however you can leave the front cover on as you slide it in and out which is very convenient. The front end cover also has a hole that you can open in the middle for solar (with a smaller filter) or lunar observation.

It balances well and there is a 1/4-20 hole in the bottom so you can attach it to a standard tripod with confidence. The end of the tube is rubberized, for an extra margin of safety. The Pentax 75 SDHF accessories include a 7x35 Finderscope and Bracket and the BH-75 Tube Holder.
