It has an excellent tray life. I was interrupted in one darkroom session, so I covered the tray with a larger tray and came back about 24 hours later, and ot worked fine. It is one of the developers that rivals the old Kodak "Dektol" for overall performance.

Great initial results and longer lasting than the Ilford developer I was using. Great product!

I don't think I'll bother trying any other paper developer. This stuff works great! And it seems to last forever! I'm still using the same batch I diluted three weeks ago and it hasn't changed color yet. I'll keep using it until it quits working and then mix up some more.

I bought this as a convenient substitute for Dektol.

Formulary's 120 Low Contrast Paper Developer is a metol-based developer and is similar in composition to Ansco 120. Developer 120 produces soft prints with good blacks and neutral tones and should not be confused with Formulary Developer 120 ED, which is a high-contrast catechol developer. The prints have good tonal separation with a decrease of 1/2 to 1 paper grades of contrast. The chemicals in the formula prepare a stock solution which is diluted 1:2 for the working solution. The stock solution is stable for 2 to 3 months, but the working solution can be used for only one printing session.
