It has an excellent tray life. I was interrupted in one darkroom session, so I covered the tray with a larger tray and came back about 24 hours later, and ot worked fine. It is one of the developers that rivals the old Kodak "Dektol" for overall performance.

I don't think I'll bother trying any other paper developer. This stuff works great! And it seems to last forever! I'm still using the same batch I diluted three weeks ago and it hasn't changed color yet. I'll keep using it until it quits working and then mix up some more.

I bought this as a convenient substitute for Dektol.

When it comes to achieving a full scale of rich blacks in your photographic prints, the Formulary's BW-65 Liquid Paper Developer stands out with its Phenidone and glycin-based formula. This high-capacity developer offers a long shelf life and excellent tray life, making it a reliable choice for both professional photographers and hobbyists.
Unlike many other developers, the BW-65 does not contain metol, ensuring a safer and more eco-friendly developing process. The prints produced with this developer closely resemble the quality of Amidol prints, yet without the common staining issues, thus providing you with superior, clean results.
The amount of working solution yielded per kit is flexible and depends on the dilution used. This makes the BW-65 a versatile choice that can be tailored to your specific developing needs.
The BW-65 is comparable to the F130, but it stands out with its liquid A and B stock solution formula, which allows for a very fast speed of development. With a 1:1:1 ratio, you can achieve full black development in just 15-30 seconds. If you opt for a 1:1:10 dilution, you can expect to reach full black in 5-7 minutes.
In summary, the Formulary's BW-65 Liquid Paper Developer is a high-quality, versatile, and fast-acting solution for all your black and white photographic developing needs.
