I say give it a try

Excellent stuff. Easy to mix and use. A great way to get a different look from your black and white film. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but definitely worth a try for experimentation's sake and to try and get closer to your artistic vision as a film photographer

I've had good experiences with Photographer's Formulary products since 2012

This time I bought my Pyrocat-HD in Glycol from Adorama for convenience sake. I've had good experiences with Photographer's Formulary products since 2012 and have had consistent success with them. "Shiprock" was developed using a dilution of 1.5:3:100 in a Jobo 3005 Expert drum and a Jobo CPP3 processor operated at 55 RPM.

A Great Developer

I've used Pyrocat MC in a Jobo for a number of years. I get good results on a wide range of films. The staining effect contributes to fewer printing steps. Highly recommended.

A high-quality product from the renowned brand, Photographers' Formulary, the D-25 Fine Grain Film Developer is a professional-grade solution designed for superior film development. This effective developer is formulated with metol and a gentle silver solvent, sodium metabisulfite, ensuring a fine grain finish reminiscent of the results achieved with Developer 12.

Unlike Developer 12, however, the D-25 Fine Grain Film Developer substitutes the potentially harmful p-Phenylenediamine with metol, making it a safer choice for photographers. While it delivers normal contrast, it may also impart a softness to the final image.

Known for its non-staining properties, the D-25 Fine Grain Film Developer has been reported to cause staining and dichroic fog with some modern fine-grain films. As such, it is recommended to test this developer with your specific film before extensive use.

The chemicals included in this kit are designed to create a working solution with a shelf life of two months. One liter of this solution can process up to 4 rolls of film, and its capacity can be extended to 25 rolls per liter when used with the replenisher, Formulary DK-25R.

In conclusion, the D-25 Fine Grain Film Developer is a reliable, durable, and effective solution for photographers seeking professional-grade results.
