I needed to replace a 1.5 farad cap that went bad. A 5 farad cap for such a low price is unheard of. The Pyle name has been around for many years & even though the company has probably changed hands from the "good 'ol days" & the cap is China made I know if the cap meets the specs then name doesn't matter. Right out of the package both terminal bolts were broken, flush with the top of the cap. I have the necessary tools & experience to remove the broken bolts & I had the parts I needed on the bad cap. Obviously, if I didn't have the tools/exper./parts I would have had to ship it back & wait for a replacement. If you are not familiar with caps they must 1st be charged. The cap came with the necessary resistor for charging but directions state that only a few seconds are needed to charge the cap but for me progress was so slow I rigged clips to hold it all together while I walked away. About 10 minutes was needed for full charge (cap voltage = battery voltage)& you better get that + wire attached quickly because cap begins to discharge immediately when you remove the resistor. All that said, it does what it is supposed to do, system hits hard & the elec. sys. isn't overburdened.
