Very high quality chemical for the darkroom or other uses
My use for pyrogallol is quite different than its intended use. I grow crystals on glass microscope slides and then photograph those crystals with a microscope using linear polarizers. I am a fine art photographer and a scientist. If a chemical contains any impurities in the tiniest amount I will see them under the microscope.
