The one I got worked great but the front light didn't work. It wasn't worth the shipping to exchange it. I contacted Adorama about it but never got a reply. Other than that it works fine.

I am an audiophile with several vintage analog yamaha receivers in a multizone whole house system that I wanted to have an easy hookup to both charge and play my iphone and ipods. I bought three of these Pyle docks and they play and charge my ipod classic, my ipod touch 1st generation, and my ipod touch 4th generation, and my iphone 4. The dock basically uses the same connectors (USB power and headphone jack adapter) that you would use to connect the ipod directly. Like some reviewers have identified, one of the three remotes did not work. The sound quality through the dock is not as good as plugging the adapter directly into the headphone jack, possibly related to the ipod's internal DAC. When I got the new ipod touch 4 I discovered that it has the headphone jack on the bottom so you can't use the headphone jack and a simple charging dock at the same time. The Pyle dock resolves this problem with only a slight drop in sound quality and the cost is less than many docks that only provide charging.
