Experience the precision and reliability of the Photographers' Formulary Residual Hypo Test, a specialized tool designed for discerning photographers. This high-quality hypo test is a straightforward chemical procedure that accurately determines whether a print or film strip has been sufficiently washed.
The test operates on the principle of creating a yellow stain of silver sulfide-silver thiosulfate on the white of a test print or the clear area of a negative filmstrip when the test solution is applied. This stain formation is a clear indicator of the washing adequacy, providing you with accurate and reliable results.
The Residual Hypo Test is particularly effective when the print or film has been treated with a Hypo Clearing agent and subsequently washed in water. It can also provide accurate results if the print or film has been simply washed in water. However, it's important to note that the test may not yield accurate results if a Hypo Eliminator has been used in the washing process. This is due to the presence of ammonia in the Hypo Eliminator, which interacts with the silver ions in the Residual Hypo Test Solution, thereby reducing their effective concentration.
With the Photographers' Formulary Residual Hypo Test, you can ensure the highest quality results in your photography, making it an essential tool in your photographic process.
