Sodium Phosphate Uses
• An alkali used as a substitute for caustic and carbonate alkalies in negative development
• Used as a water softener
• Good for cleaning and detoxifying vessels and trays that contained fixer
Note:
1. Most of the TV "miracle" cleaners are TSP compound, plus carrying agents and coloring. Also known as T.S.P. General cleaner for spills in work area, scouring dyepots. Generally fairly safe but can cause irreversible damage if ingested. Pour down toilet.
2. Alternatives: Baking soda, tartaric acid, water softener.
