Experience the versatility and efficiency of our 20lbs Sodium Thiosulfate (Hypo), Penta (Prismatic Rice). This high-quality chemical compound is a key ingredient in a variety of applications, making it an essential addition to your supplies.
Sodium Thiosulfate is widely used in the preparation of fixing baths, a crucial step in the photographic development process. It acts as a reducing agent, helping to remove unexposed silver halides from the film or paper, thus stabilizing the image.
This product is also a vital ingredient in various reducers, contributing to the chemical reactions that alter the oxidation state of atoms within the molecules.
It's important to note that Sodium Thiosulfate (Hypo) is available in two forms: anhydrous and crystalline. The crystalline form, when dissolved, significantly lowers the water temperature. On the other hand, the anhydrous form does not have this effect. Therefore, when mixing the crystalline form, it's recommended to start with water of at least 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius).
If you're using the anhydrous form as a substitute for crystalline hypo, use 64% of the anhydrous salt. This ensures the correct chemical balance and optimal performance in your applications.
With our 20lbs Sodium Thiosulfate (Hypo), Penta (Prismatic Rice), you're investing in a product that delivers reliability, consistency, and superior results in your photographic and chemical processes.
