Excellent stuff. Easy to mix and use. A great way to get a different look from your black and white film. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but definitely worth a try for experimentation's sake and to try and get closer to your artistic vision as a film photographer

This time I bought my Pyrocat-HD in Glycol from Adorama for convenience sake. I've had good experiences with Photographer's Formulary products since 2012 and have had consistent success with them. "Shiprock" was developed using a dilution of 1.5:3:100 in a Jobo 3005 Expert drum and a Jobo CPP3 processor operated at 55 RPM.

I've used Pyrocat MC in a Jobo for a number of years. I get good results on a wide range of films. The staining effect contributes to fewer printing steps. Highly recommended.

Make the most of your black and white film development with Wimberley's WD2D+ Pyro-Metol Film Developer, a high-quality, professional-grade solution that has been meticulously formulated by renowned photographer John Wimberley. This updated version of the classic WD2D formula is designed to enhance the visual impact of your photographs, ensuring that each negative is developed to its full potential.
Crafted for spectacular results with contemporary black and white negative films, the WD2D+ developer is renowned for its ability to produce negatives with exceptional characteristics. Experience greatly enhanced acutance, thanks to the edge effects at tonal boundaries, which bring out the finest details in your images. Enjoy a very smooth, extended tonal scale that allows for nuanced shading and depth. The unmatched tonal separation, especially in the highlights, ensures that your prints will stand out with clarity and vibrancy.
One of the key benefits of using Wimberley's WD2D+ developer is the hardening of the film emulsion it provides, which significantly reduces the susceptibility to scratching. This feature, combined with the fine, unobtrusive grain it produces, results in negatives that boast higher sharpness and finer grain than those developed with conventional developers.
The unique spectral characteristics of the WD2D+ developer mean that negatives can be printed on a variety of paper types, including both gelatin/silver and platinum/palladium, without compromising on quality. The emulsion of WD2D+ negatives contains a yellow-orange colored dye mask, traditionally referred to as 'stain', which enhances the contrast of the negative beyond the level produced by the silver image alone. This allows for the development of negatives to lower silver densities, further improving grain and sharpness.
When printing on variable contrast papers, the yellow-orange mask of the WD2D+ developer counteracts the loss of contrast typically caused by the greenish tint produced by some other pyrogallol developers. The full color density of the mask is achieved during the development process itself, eliminating the need for an alkaline after-bath and reducing the required washing time.
The WD2D+ Pyro-Metol Film Developer comes in two easy-to-use Stock Solutions, A and B, which are simply diluted with water just before use. This reliable, one-shot developer ensures that each batch of working solution is used only once, maintaining the consistency and quality of your film development process.
Choose Wimberley's WD2D+ Pyro-Metol Film Developer for its versatility and effectiveness, and trust in the reputation of Photographers' Formulary to deliver a product that meets the exacting standards of both amateur and professional photographers alike. Whether you're in the darkroom or the studio, this developer is an essential tool for anyone serious about the art of film photography.
