Extend NAS functionality with PCIe slots
The TS-877 features three PCIe slots (1 x PCIe 3.0 x8, 1 x PCIe 3.0 x4, 1 x PCIe 2.0 x4) that allow for installing 10GbE/40GbE network cards, QM2 M.2 SSD/10GbE PCIe cards, or compatible wireless network cards for greater application potential.
10GbE/ 40GbE adapters
Install 10GbE/40GbE adapters to support lightning-fast throughput for bandwidth-demanding tasks such as virtualization and fast backup/restoration for an ever-growing amount of data.
QM2 M.2 SSD/10GbE cards

Note: The QM2 card can only be installed in the System Zone PCIe slot (PCIe slot 1). A QM2 card and a graphics card cannot be installed in the same NAS when both cards require PCIe slot 1.

Install a compatible wireless network card to work with WirelessAP Station to transform the NAS into a convenient wireless base station, allowing network resources of the NAS to be shared with multiple devices.
Fuel GPU-accelerated computing with a 450W power supply
Graphics cards are optimized for graphical calculations and transformations, but require significantly more power compared to other hardware. The TS-877 offers PCIe slots to support AMD Radeon or NVIDIA graphics cards and a 450 watt power supply that is capable of powering a graphics card for boosting imaging processing in QTS and performance of virtual machines via GPU passthrough. When enjoying videos with the TS-877, you can use the remote control (RM-IR004, optional purchase) that supports QButton for a more convenient control of your multimedia experience.
Note:
1. The 450 watt power supply unit provides a 8-pin (6+2) power connector and a 6-pin power connector for a graphics card.
2. When Virtualization Station uses graphics cards, the NAS will temporarily stop hardware transcoding acceleration for QTS (and vice versa).
3. GPU support for QTS only applies to NVIDIA graphics cards. GPU Passthrough for VM is supported by AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards.
4. TS-877 supports graphics cards with dimensions up to 266 x 112 x 45 mm.

SSD caching and auto tiering enable 24/7 optimized storage efficiency
The TS-877 provides two 2.5-inch SSD slots dedicated for caching to increase IOPS performance, and supports optional M.2 SATA 6Gb/s SSDs. Using an SSD cache boosts overall system performance, and is perfect for improving the overall workflow of random IOPS demanding applications such as virtualization. Qtier Technology empowers the TS-877 with auto tiering that further helps continuously optimize storage efficiency across M.2 SSD, SSD, and high-capacity SATA drives with around-the-clock acceleration. The new Qtier 2.0 features IO-awareness that empowers SSD tiered storage with a cache-like reserved space to handle burst I/O in real time, greatly maximizing the advantages of SSD.
Note: M.2 SSD sold separately. M.2 SSD operations can easily generate excessive heat, and it is recommended to install a heatsink (from QNAP or a third-party provider) on M.2 SSD.
