I've had problems with the cross bar connections coming apart. making it impossible to connect the pipes together. If you are going to to set up and leave it then it's probably not an issue, but I take mine down and set it up every time and after a dozen or so uses the connectors started coming apart.

This is a value priced large stand. It should be handled carefully since construction is not as robust as it should be. The top bar consists of multiple 40" sections. The mimimum length is 80", using 2 bars with holes on end. Be very careful when you lower or raise the bars when using most of the sections. The center bar with the hole in it is easily bent. The bar walls are thin and it can break easily if you crimp it.

I purchased this stand to ensure the background would be large enough to photograph large dance groups...up to 15 dancers. I used it to hang an all white, paper backdrop. The backdrop was 18 feet wide cross the horizontal bar and 24 long. The stand performed perfectly. The center vertical ensured that the backdrop did not sag. I attached the backdrop to the stand using white duct tape though the top was never visible in the photos.

I am using this along with a large grey muslin to turn my dining room with nice wood floors into an instant studio. The stands are sturdy and the bags come with nice dividers for better loading and transport.

I use this product to shoot a dance school. Have some very large groups involved and the background needs to be 32' x 24'. This has proven to be an essential tool for spanning backgrounds that wide. Although this kit, in and of itself, doesn't directly support backgrounds that large, it is adaptable enough to be able to with a few modifications. Very well constructed gear, easy to use, and has stood up to years of use. Had to buy a second kit for yet another large group and went immediately to this kit.

I purchased this background stand kit to use with a 20x20 backdrop I recently purchased. There arent a whole lot of choices out there but I am glad I found this one. These stands are made from cheap materials and will not survive much abuse. With that in mind you have to be careful with them if you want them to last. The carry bags are awful! All of the zippers failed on the first time I used them leaving me with a chance that all of the stands and crossbars may fall out while being transported.

Great value out of the box. Stand height adjustment clamps required adjustment to ensure no slippage. Crossbar design is a compromise between the looser extension tube type and the type that requires allen wrench tightened sections. The bag has flimsy elastic loops to keep the crossbar sections secure; the more professional design would have individual pocket would be better and faster to use. The two-bag kit is just another piece to check at the airport. Should have been one larger bag. But if it had all those little things changed, it would cost twice as much.

I needed a 20' wide background support system so that I could take pictures of a full class of kids. This product went up easy and with stood a bunch of preschool children running around it and jumping into the background. It actually handled it better than I did.

It's not the highest quality finish, but who cares? For the money, it's quite solid. The bags are kind of cheap but they also do the job. You can set the system up to be as long as a spar or two, or link all three together for the full 20'+ Oddly enough, I now realize I'd prefer to have an additional stand & spar combination (another one can fit in the second case) because when shooting static models, it's a benefit to have two blackout backdrops at ±90° angles. I'd never use it in a 27' long configuration...the flexibility of two backdrops would be great as part of the kit.

Good set up and easy to use. One of the Bag Zippers broke on the first use.

Really like the sturdy cross poles - they don't bow with the weight of the heavy, 24' wide backdrop.
