Official Canon product at a reasonable price

I always would rather have a Canon product vs an aftermarket one, if the price is reasonable. I do have an aftermarket charger for these batteries and some aftermarket batteries but I prefer to use the Canon charger for the Canon batteries. I use the aftermarket charger for the aftermarket batteries. The price for the Canon charger is reasonable but over 4 times the price of the non-Canon product, thus the minus one star, both have worked well.

Battery Charger for the save

Quality charger

I bought this to charge the new BP 819 battery I bought for my Canon Vixia HF M41 camcorder since I had a store credit. I guess I could have charged the battery in the camera with the chord that came with the camera, but decided that charging separately and still being able to use the camera was a good idea. I wish it were easier to determine which batteries and chargers were compatible with each camera. Seems like I had to research that for quite a while. I was pleased to see that the charger would also charge my BP 808 battery, but I had to really check it out first. Would have been nice if that info were on the box.

A must have for charging battery

Most of the Canon camcorders do not come with a charger, so, you are left to charge the battery via the camera which is so wrong. This charger should be included with ALL Canon camcorders. Good idea: When buying a Canon camcorder, check to see if a separate charger is in the box, if not; Purchase this charger along with a second battery. This way you can shoot with one battery, having a full battery as back-up. If you are some where with power, you can charge 1 battery and continue shooting with the other.

Pricey, but convenient and works well

I accidentally left the power adapter that came with my camera in the hotel room on vacation. So rather than replace it with another, I bought this battery charger instead. I like it much better than the power adapter, because it's smaller, packs up conveniently for travel, charges batteries in less time, and best of all, lets you charge one battery while using the other. My only complaint is that it's pretty pricey for a battery charger.
