I'm giving five stars to the Polysteel 600R rechargeable LED flashlight with adjustable beam because is so good for the price. The one thing I don't like is the switch operation, but I have already learned to live with it. I like -low-medium-high-off switches where each dash is a push of the button. This one is -high-off-medium-off-low-off. This means it takes five pushes to get to low because there is an off position between every brightness level. And it starts with high brightness instead of low brightness. Now for all the pluses. It's very solid and feels well made. I love zooming the beam in and out for close and far spotting. Fully zoomed out and on low it's great for walking my dogs and unlikely to damage their eyes. Having a rechargeable battery is great and reduces waste. Plus having alkaline batteries for a backup makes it great for camping and trips. Being waterproof is so nice for using it in the rain. Plus it's very bright on high and zoomed into spot mode. The beam illuminates trees in the hill top park two blocks away. I got a bright green one so I can find it in low light. I love that. Customer Service is excellent. I had a small problem with the flashlight and customer service took care of it right away. Thanks, Dan

Bought to replace old heavy non led mags. Arrived a day early. Power was out when I got home from work from wind storm so I unboxed and used right away. Dual power and preloaded with coast batteries so ready to go straight out of the box. Got to play with these for a few hours until power was restored and what a great flashlight.

I already own a G32 for indoors use and wanted a flashlight that would be brighter than the G32 for outdoors use. So, I bought this flashlight version because I had received a discount coupon from Coast as a result of a purchase of a worklight, and because I wanted something that took 4 AA batteries as well as a rechargable li-on battery. . Coast shipped me a 650R, a big box store version of the 600R, instead. When I reported that I was missing the car charger and USB charge unit that should have come with the Coast Crew 600R, Bobby from Coast had those parts sent to me the next day. I also had an issue that seemed to with the tailcap, and Bobby sent that out along also in the same shipment. The flashlight now works as expected. I like the quick switch betweeen the light modes using half clicks. I also note that if I want to use a lower light level, I can half click to that level, then full click to maintain that level. The rechargeable battery that came with the product works well. The flashlight also works well with Eneloop rechargeable AA batteries. The twist focus was stiff at first but loosened up afterward. I particularly like the flood mode of this flashlight for indoor use. I have only dropped it once about a meter, which had no ill effect. Between the twist focus and the loop where you can attach a lanyard, the flashlight will not roll. I have not had opportunity to use this flashlight out doors but I expect that this it should feel right at home there.

Super bright and extremely durable light. I leave it in my truck full time throughout the Wisconsin winters and the battery is strong despite single digit temperatures every night. This is my favorite light for work and hunting.

I absolutely love these flashlights and they are pretty light and durable and they are not expensive like other lights I've bought before . I can also say my favorite about these lights are they have the option for rechargeable batteries and thats a money saver for sure . And last thing thats awesome is Coast offers warranty on their lights and who else does that. ? I own 6 Coast lights and have no complaints

This flashlight is crazy. I bought it as a last minute purchase for a caving trip and it performed just as good, if not better than top dollar lights. I honestly wasn't expecting much for the price but it turns dark spaces into eye piercing brightness. After the caving trip we used it during a rash of bad storms that knocked power out for a few days. Ive put probably 60 hours into it so far and still haven't had to change the batteries. Its a hefty torch too. It can take a beating and doesn't seem to care about water at all. We had it in 3ft deep water in the caves and it still works great. If you don't have one, get one. I promise you won't be disappointed. Every household needs a flashlight this good.

Typical coast quality build. The rechargeable battery is a nice improvement. Would be nice if it had an external charging port versus having to take the battery pack out to charge it. My wife wishes it came with a lanyard.

I like this light better than my maglights. When you need a bright light this one is good but I find myself using the low setting most often inside. I to wish the switch would stay where you select it but it's easy enough to pick the lower setting. The other great feature is dual power I always have lots of aa battery's around not always ds though. This light feels very sturdy. I am convinced dual power is the way to especially for emergency use.

I bought a pair of these lights, as part of an "open box" deal in March 2022. They are fantastically bright, and Coast knows how to do "open box" deals, unlike some other online vendors I've bought from (Amazon). The products showed up in the original packaging, looked like they were brand new, and functioned like brand new. For less than $60 for the pair, and included a pair of rechargeable batteries. I can't say enough good things about these lights and the deal I got.

I bought this light 6 months ago to go shell hunting at night when my wife and I went to Destin,FL. It?s a great light, the dimmest mode was perfect for what we were doing. It?s adjustable focus for longer range applications and has high, medium and low brightness settings. I?ve had two of the 600Rs, one was defective and Coast replaced it for free. I think they have lifetime warranties. I knew something was up with it because the twist to focus was extremely hard right out of the box. Like breaking loose something that was super glued. The defective one STILL lasted 6 months! What got me into Coast lights is a headlamp. It?s an older model, my stepdad was going to toss it because the battery compartment was corroded. I cleaned it and it?s the best work light. I use it for fishing at night, mechanics and even when we have bonfires to round up more wood at night. Thanks, Coast, for the awesome lights, great customer service and of course for the replacement!

I bought it a couple years ago . We went camping for a week . My 2 year old decided to take it to the river for a swim . Completely submerged it. Didnt work . But i wrote customer sirvice and the gave me the hp3r. Customer service told me throw it away . I didn't. 2022 has come and i fixed and works perfectly fine!

At first, I was unsure about the polymer construction after owning numerous Coast flashlights all with full metal bodies that hold up to impressive punishment and extreme environments without skipping a beat. I learned very quickly that the polymer model was every bit as tough as any one of my metal ones and when they inevitably get dropped, the beautiful finish wont scratch or dent. I will be purchasing many more for my employees to use in the field and highly recommend the Polysteel line to anyone in need of a reliable, high performance flashlight.

High Quality light with a low quality feel. The inner barrel of the light is aluminum, but the rest is plastic. I was surprised by how "cheap", for lack of better word, the light felt in my hand, as most of the light is plastic. Perhaps I was expecting too much, as I also have the XP18R, which is also much more expensive and all aluminum. Beam is powerful and the battery is strong, as to be expected of Coast products. Neat feature that the rechargeable battery also has an USB outlet, so that it can be used a power pack if needed.

This is the third Polysteel 600R I have owned. It is actually a warranty replacement after my first one wouldn't always switch from a broad beam to a focused beam, despite proper care and use of correct accessories. I still get use from the first two, but having a new one is great. They are durable, can take a beating here and there, has consistent light brightness as long as the alkaline batteries are good quality and new, or the rechargeable pack is fully charged. The only reason for the 4 stars is because I have had an issue with the rechargeable packs "falling apart". One of the first two actually had the USB connection fall into the rechargeable battery encasement. The USB cable that comes with it isn't the best, so if it gets bent at either end of the cable too much, it starts to have connectivity issues, hence, the battery won't charge properly or unless it's in just the right position. Other than that, I've gotten a lot of use out of my first two and know the third will be the same. I use these around the yard at night, for yard work, DIY Projects, and out by the river or lake when hiking or exploring near a campsite.
