I own three purchased via department store to use in caving. They fit on to a helmet nicely and a great for youth due to light weight and not front helmet heavy. I use them now as loaner lights on my beginner trips. They handle bumps well, last for extended time with out need to change batteries. The back of helmet battery pack makes it easy to swap batteries if needed with out having to remove the helmet. Can handle the dampness of caves and even a brief submerge time with out failing. Only drawback is low lumens even on high, and the light tilts easy just from walking so needs to be adjusted often..

Coast products are AMAZING! I use this headlamp nightly in my job as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and it never fails me. The strap keeps the light comfortably in place allowing me to work with both hands. The combination of the bright led light and ability to rotate the head allows me to place the focus right where I need it. The different light settings are an added plus. This light uses 3 AAA batteries which is nice as they are readily available. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and will remain a loyal Coast customer for years to come.

Excellent headlight for indoor use. I use mine when popping ceiling tiles or working in cabinets in a data center. Lightweight too. Batteries last nicely.

It’s very comfortable to have the battery pack at the back of your head instead of right at the light. Two different settings are very convenient.

I'm on my second one because the first one stopped working after 2 months. The warranty replacement process was fine if you don't mind paying shipping. In my case, the shipping was almost half the price of what I paid for the light. In hindsight, I should've kept the packaging on the first light and returned it to the store that I bought it from and not pay shipping. The light works great initially. Nice and bright on the high setting. I did notice the quality of light starts to decline and flicker after an hour of use on fresh batteries. Using rechargeable batteries might be a good idea to cut costs on battery replacement. Also, the placement of the switch is a little cumbersome if you're wearing a hat with the bill facing forward.

I bought this light because my other one is no good in the sunlight,I own a lawnmower shop and when I have to check something outside the HL40 is great. I have and will tell all whose interested. Love the light.

This light works great when holding a flashlight is not possible. Used it while working on my car, using the head strap allowed me to have light exactly where needed. With 2 light settings it was easy get the amount of light needed.

I got this for help remodeling our house. It gets hard using a flashlight when I need two hands so this head light was perfect for me. It was comfortable to wear I just wish that the brightness adjusted better. I was able to use it to install a ceiling fan and it made my work so much easier.

I like that this light is LED because it's super bright and you can see a lot. I haven't had a chance to test it outside but I plan on keeping it as a light back up when power goes out. I dont really prefer it being on my head but it works.

This is probably the brightest headlamp I have ever seen! I have used it several times and it’s extremely helpful to have my hands free with such a powerful light. I can not wait to go camping with it. I do wish that the beam was adjustable and the light gets pretty hot. I will be buying a couple more to have around.

I’m impressed by this little guy! It’s small so I wasn’t expecting a lot out of it. Don’t let the size fool you. This bad boy throws a nice bright and wide circle beam of light. It’s comfortable and not bulky like others. The helmet clips it comes with are a plus if you need to wear a hard hat, I never knew such a thing existed until this bad boy came with them.

I, like most men, have owned dozens and dozens of headlamps. At my local hardware store they come free with purchases and a coupon. I've owned Black Diamond headlamps for outdooring... but the minute I took this Coast LED lamp out of the package and hit the on button, I was literally shocked. It's piercingly bright! Like, I could go in my basement in the middle of the night and fix things bright. I've never seen or owned one with this power. I look forward to seeing what I can get into with it!

We are loving this headlamp. We have several others, but this one is the best by far. First of all, it is comfortable and doesn't feel awkward at all. Second, my other headlamps have an issue that the light doesn't stay in place when I'm moving around. This headlamp does not have that problem at all. Finally, this headlamp is easy to use. You can use it for so many things too...camping, working on a car, hiking, etc. We even used it this weekend after I cut my finger to assess how bad the would was. This headlamp is a great purchase!

We camp and spend a lot of time outside, so I've had a lot of headlamps. It's the tale of too large, too small, too heavy, too fragile. The perfect place to land is with a bright light, that's not too heavy. This light meets those requirements perfectly.
