Shopper : Can you set up this capture card for HDMI?BRIAN F : it is possible I suppose through adapters, but this VC500 is set up for lower resolution Composite Video capture. It has the R/W/Y inputs for capture, HDMI could adapt to that, but I think there is a better Video Capture Device for HDMI.GEORGE T : I don't think so, but I'm not sure why that would be an issue unless your computer doesn't have a USB port. The device is intended for capturing videos and recordsl. Once on your computer, they can be exported via HDMI or other means. Perhaps you could find a USB-to-HDMI cable if you don't have a USB port. But maximum video resolution will be 780 x 420.JOSHUA A : It only transfers video through USB 2.0 and the video is only as good as the quality of the Video going into it. It's the only device I've ever been able to get working USB wise to convert video from VHS to DVD.TIM B : Not sure what you mean. It captures analog video and converts it through a USB plug. Shopper : ok so im a gamer right, so if i want to record and not play on a small screen like my desktop, how would i hook it up to my flat screen and it record at the same time?JOHN D : Sorry, I only used as an A/D converter to capture analogue VHS tapes to a digital file and then convert to DVD. We own many VHS tapes and wanted to convert to DVD.ELLA K : Unfortunately I was expecting the device to work like magic, but lacking tech savy myself, that didn't happen. Really sorry I can't give the answer you seek.
Shopper : Does this work on Windows 8?JOHN D : Sorry, do not know, still behind the times on Windows 7. Works great on my system, perhaps the manufacturer can help answer.ELLA K : I wish I could help; however, I use Windows 7… not 8. For me, I have not found the VC5 00 One-Touch satisfactory. Perhaps no fault of the device, rather my shortcomings when it comes to the computer world. My son set up the system for me then left for home in a remote state, so I’ve decided not to pursue it on my own. At the same time, I must say that I can’t say enough for the fine service from Adorama. emkJIM C : This I do not know.. I do know it works well with Windows 7 have you checked the manufacturers web site ?

Not bad, works, easy setup.

So far so good. I thought the ad I read said Mac compatible, but it's not. Luckily I had an old PC lying around and I can load on to it & then transfer the files to my Mac for editing.
