Can't describe how good this closed back headphone is. In every aspect: WOW! Design is awesome. Still satisfied with my 7200 for House/Disco/Soul/Funk because of the deep bass!

These headphones are simply fantastic for the price and I believe they offer the best value among higher-end models. Out of the box, they have a slightly recessed midrange, but many like that as they feel somewhat relaxed. I choose to correct it using EQ and these make an ideal "canvas" on which to create the sound signature that you prefer because they are just so capable. I use EQ to achieve a near-Harmon curve and they sound sublime. The bass is as abundant as it is accurate, never bloaty or boomy. Not that it's only about bass, but that is a common barometer for headphone sound. My previous headphone of choice, Focal Clear Mg's, had the best bass I'd heard until these. They are now for sale. And make no mistake, they're really good, these just make me not want to switch back to them. I've also had OG Clears and Elears, plus Audeze LCD-2 and LCD-X '21. And I've borrowed Sennheiser HD800S before. These beat all of them. I've read of people preferring these to the $3K Focal Stellia. I feel very confident that you'd have to spend at least triple what these cost to get something else comparable. The only caveat is that as closed-backs, they don't have much of a sound stage. If that's super important to you then look elsewhere, otherwise give these a shot and don't look back.

Just received my new Headphone and I got to say outstanding. I'm not going to lie these are my first high end Headphones. I do have a pair of 350-dollar ones but these 9200's out of the box are outstanding, I have tried multiple genres of music and these phones sound amazing on all of them using my Denon AVR-X3700H and streaming High Def. I have a very large head and these fit perfectly, the earcups cover my ears without pinching my ears but are not too big. I only wish the long cord was twice as long, I don't sit 3 feet away from my stereo.

Over a week's time I have compared these Denon AH-D9200 phones to several other closed back headphones, including the Denon AH-D7200, Beyerdynamic T5, Massdrop x Beyerdynamic DT177X, Audio Technica ATH-AWAS Zakura, Focal Celestee, Drop + Dan Clark Audio Aeon, Sony MDR-Z1R and my old Oppo PM-3. The Denon AH-D9200, in my opinion, sounds the best. They sound most similar to the less expensive Denon AH-D7200, but the treble is better extended on the more expensive pair. The D9200 sounds the least "closed in" of all the other phones. They sound the least "nasal" with best top to bottom extension and balance. Although the Sony's are the most comfortable, this Denon has a greater bass to treble range and sounds less closed in with a wider soundstage. Despite not being the most comfortable phones here, the D9200 is adequately comfortable for long listening sessions. Besides the Oppo PM-3, which I already owned and continue to enjoy, the rest are going back and the Denon AH-D9200 are staying with me. These phones were listened to / compared using a Burson Conductor 3 Reference DAC/amp and are joining the following open phones I am lucky to own: Audeze LCD-X, Hifiman Ananda, Focal Clear Pro, Audio Technica ADH-ADX5000 and Sennheiser HD-600. I've never had it so good.

I had a pair in the past and I believe they were the best headphones I have ever heard. At one time I had almost 70 quality headphone and owmed most of the best under $2000. The Denons are by far my favorite, absolutely exceptional!

These headphones are a joy. An indulgence, definitely, given how much they cost, but they let music sound so intimately engaging. They let subtleties emerge as well as conveying grand gestures of musicality with controlled power and presence. Everything I?ve played through them has been a pleasure to hear. You get the feeling that they are letting the music be itself, freely and fully. Bass is powerful but never overpowering and overall clarity is superb. I haven?t heard better closed or open headphones.

I have been using these for about 3-8 hours per day since I got them last month, and I can safely say that these have the most uncompromising sound of any headphone I have ever owned. The bass is clean yet extremely punchy, the mids are detailed with a slight warmth, and the highs and vocals shine through with perfect clarity. When combined with their superb comfort level, this is a headphone that is truly addictive to use. I also love the aesthetic, and the build quality feels top notch. Very happy I went with these.

All the way good headphones which makes you want to listen all music you've been listen for years. I bought it in offline store comparing with Audeze LCD-X and Audeze LCD-XC (of course there was a lot more but these two was in semifinal. I would say that LCD-X is better for my ear, lot more air and pleasure. But I have kids so I can't use open headphones unfortunately :(. Comparing with LCD-XC, AH-D9200 plays better almost everywhere. The only downside of Denons is weak noise isolation. It worse than any closed back headphones I ever used but it just enough to still enjoy music even with kids in the same room. Open headphones will not give you such experience.

I have been a Sennheiser devotee since I bought my HD-580s back in the 80s. After listening to the open back Sennheiser, I thought I would never go back to closed back headphones,.Then I got a pair of AH- 9200s as a gift. These headphones have made me want to listen to my music every day. The bass is superb , tight and of high quality. The midrange natural and precise with the highs detailed and non fatiguing. I just love these headphones.Thank you Denon!
