About Electro-Voice SMP-2

PST-170 Belt Pack Transmitter
The PST-170 Belt Pack Transmitter may be set to any one of the 17 channels which is displayed on the backlit LCD and operates on frequencies in the 72-76 MHz band. It is lightweight, battery operated and includes a small lapel microphone for convenient portable use. The PST-170 has two audio input jacks. The Auxiliary input is designed to allow the use of audio devices such as teacher's aids or tape players. The second jack is normally used with a microphone and is located on the top panel. The PST-170 is also compatible with the E.D.R. feature of the SR-400.

SR 50 Single Channel Receiver
The SR-50 Single Channel Receiver provides clear reception and the simplicity of a fixed channel. This economical receiver operates on one of 17 fixed narrow-band frequencies in the 72-76 MHz band. Ergonomic raised volume control knob make level adjustments easily accessible by feel. Recessed headphone jack provides extra protection for earphone connections. Two AA batteries give up to 30 hours continuous battery life.

Operating Features

Volume OFF/ON Control
This thumbwheel control serves as both an off/on switch and as a volume control. The Receiver is turned off when the control is in the extreme counterclockwise position, when viewed from the rear and the volume is loudest when the control is in the extreme clockwise position as indicated on the volume control.

Headphone Jack
The headphone jack accepts a 0.140-inch (3.5 mm) diameter miniature mono or stereo phone plug. A variety of accessory units can be plugged into this jack for reception of the desired channel(s) being transmitted.

Belt Clip
The belt clip supplied is detachable by spreading the wire apart at the tops and removing one side of the clip from the case and then the other.

HM2 Head worn Microphone
The Electro-Voice HM2 head worn microphone is the ideal microphone for anyone who requires high-quality vocals in a hands-free application. The HM2 is perfect for use by lead vocalists, singing instrumentalists, dancers, aerobic instructors and other presenters. The HM2 has a miniature electret condenser element designed with a cardioid polar pattern, which attenuates background noises such as sound from nearby floor monitors, on-stage musical instruments and crowd noise.

• Lightweight - just 0.9 ounces (25 grams), less cable
• Behind-the-head headband is comfortable and stays in place
• Cardioid pickup pattern ensures good gain before feedback
• Frequency response and proximity effect similar to handheld vocal mics

The furnished open-pore windscreen slips over the microphone element to reduce wind noise and minimize P-popping - the excessive explosive breath noise caused by overemphasized "p" and "t" sounds. The Electro-Voice HM2 head worn microphone employs a comfortable and inconspicuous behind-the-head headband and flexible boom arm in an attractive Nonreflective black matte finish. The flexible boom, which descends from the right of the headband, is enclosed with protective shrink tubing to shield the boom arm from deterioration and to prevent the flexible tube from catching on facial hair.

The facial features of the performer or speaker will not be obstructed due to the HM2's unobtrusive design. The headband and microphone boom adjust to fit any performer or speaker. The HM2 is designed to have a frequency response similar to a handheld vocal microphone. The HM2 headset exhibits bass boost (proximity-effect) warmth that many vocalists prefer. The amount of proximity effect can be adjusted by moving the microphone element closer or farther away from the mouth. The HM2 is permanently connected to a 1.2-m (4 ft.) shielded cable terminated with a miniature Switchcraft TA3F connector.
