Takes great pictures and video

Rugged camera for the wild life. Works easy and produces outstanding pictures and video. I have one concern, date and time doesn't work for me. I'm not sure if I need date and time?

Nice camera

The Coolpix W100 produced excellent pictures, even in relatively low light. My only complaint at this time is the need to link to a phone to get GPS information. It works well enough but a little too much extra work.

It's NOT waterproof, and when it leaks, there is no warranty

I bought this on a vacation trip, it worked fine the first three times snorkeling in shallow water. Fourth time it leaked. Saltwater obviously destroyed it. There are VERY specific instructions for use, care. and maintenance that i followed exactly. Now Nikon tells me "water damage" isn't covered.

Decent camera for kids, accessories are so-so

I bought this for my grandson. I haven't given it to him yet, but have been playing with the camera a bit. If you are interested in this camera, look at the YouTube video done by "The Camera Store." Very well done; it's what sold me on the camera. Search for "Captain Camera". That reviewer must have kids. The free accessories are nearly a throwaway... The case is just plain wrong! Wrong size and wrong shape. It has no relation to the shape/size of the camera -- or anything else I can think of (okay, maybe it would be good for carrying around a softball, but nothing photographic that I can think of). LowePro customer service recommends the Tahoe CS20, which is PERFECT in every way. Adorama sells it, but I ended up ordering it direct from LowePro so I could get him the bright red version -- his favorite color. The picture shows a Sandisk memory card, but you the a Lexar (I've had trouble with those), so I bought a 32GB Sandisk Extreme Pro for my grandson, and I'll use the Lexar for scratch. The lens cleaning kit is okay, but not great. The blower is okay, but not even in the same league as the Giotto Rocket Blaster. It is small, though, and can fit in a small gadget bag. I'll update this review after my grandson and I have a chance to take some photos. One concern I have with the camera is that Nikon is adamant that you only use their cable to charge the battery in-camera. This seems like a complication. If there is something special about that cable, EE me can't figure it out. At the very least, it needs a nice big label so you know to use it and nothing else with the camera. More re this later.

ooops

I didn't realize that the scene selections on a waterproof wouldn't include a beach setting! I would have gotten more use out of that then the mirror image, soft photo, diorama, movie miniature and light trails all put together! It still takes decent photos on the beach for the size and price of the camera. I haven't tried it underwater yet, but we're happy with it so far.
