I've had this kit for years and always been happy with how easy it is to use and set up. Definitely recommend for professional and personal use as it stows away in a great little case and works with all kinds of backdrops.

Perfect portable backdrop unit. Comes with minimal pieces and a carrying case that fits everything very nicely. Can be used to shoot group portraits or easily sized down to do head shots in a matter or minutes and us simple go put together. You dont even need to read any instructions. I highly recommend for the price whether youre traveling or just permanently leaving it in a studio space.

I recommend this portable background system because it is very easy to carry in the included bag. It is very compact and easy to install. Also very strong to hold background photo paper, muslins, or canvas background.

After considering a number of backdrop supports for my heavy vinyl background, I finally selected this one. I am very glad that I did. It is well-made, sturdy, and user-friendly - just what I needed. Having a mobile studio, the carrying bag played part in my decision and this one is awesome, easily worth a third of the price. Delighted with the purchase!

I bought this unit so I could shoot a wedding and have a backdrop with me for portraits. It's amazing deal for the price, and very light for the amount of strength the pole can hold. Very easy to put up and I was happily surprised at the quality of the stands. I highly recommend this over other more expensive kits. Very portable.

Only reason it got 4 stars and not 5 was because I needed it to be a smaller backdrop stand for a tight studio area. But I was able to make a modified bar to fit when used in smaller spaces easily.

After a long debate on what BG support system to buy, I decided to with the Photek. Even though there is not a valid video review on this system, I went with my gut feeling and was happy to made the purchase. Two stands, crossbar, and bag. Very Light weight and easy to take down and put up. Very solid material used on the stands and bars. Very good support system overall. The only thing this BG support system or Photek as a company can improve is the small sections on the legs, wish they could have used the same material as the bars, is aluminum, but it seems weak.

This Photek system is built to last a long time. Though it's sturdy, it is also light...light enough for me to pack when I go to field venues to shoot. The tote back is also well constructed and perfectly designed. The tote bag is the icing on the cake for this product.

I've used many portable backdrop support systems in 30 years of photography and this Photek system is superior to many higher priced units.

I have had this system for 3 years and it is great. The whole system breaks down easily and fits compactly into a heavy duty high quality case. The stands are sturdy and work well and the sectional cross members are stiff and easy to join and detach. It is very portable and easy to set up and tear down. I am thinking about getting a second one for jobs on the go.

I am very pleased with this purchase. The carrying case is very well designed, and the whole thing goes together and comes down with ease. The support seems very sturdy. I've draped a 12 x 24 muslin and had only minimal lateral movement when I pulled on the backdrop.

I know there are cheaper support systems, but this is well worth the extra few dollars. The system sets up easily and can be configured in multiple lengths. The cross pieces lock up nicely with a simple turn of the member. Even with a fairly heavy muslin I did not see any sag in the cross member. The carry bag is made of a sturdy material and has individual pockets for each piece. I am thrilled with this system.

I purchased this background support system and put it to work within two days. It was easily setup, great use. It held up to children running all around. It was easily taken down and stored.

I bought this based on other people and the price. And for the price, it's not too bad. The stands are riveted so they get loose over time, there is not any way to tighten them. The stand locks are not bad, but no aircushions. The weakest part is how they attach the cross beam to the tops of the stands. A simple peg and slot arrangement which would have fine it were of better tolerances. On the other hand, it does work well enough with my fleece and muslin backgrounds. The travel bag is crude at best. But, again, for the price it works well enough. This is excellent for a start rig with the expectation to replace it in a year or two depending on use and expertise.

It's a good value background stand. Is light, compact, and comes with a handy carrying case. The cross bar is the weakest link but it will hold as long as you don't abuse it. No air cushions so make sure the extensions are lock down right. Its built for portability not a last forever studio stand. But I'm still happy with it.

Great Product. Bag is a little weak where the pole ends rest in the bag.

I think with a very light curtain it is probably good - mine has some weight and it bows the middle - so you have to lift it higher and then the sides don't touch the ground. But it is nice and very easy to use.

This is quick to set up, relatively lightweight, yet sturdy enough that you don't worry about it breaking on you. It is money well spent, I have no regrets here whatsoever.

Overall the product does what it is intended to do which is a convenient and portable way of holding a back drop. It lack air cushioning so watch out when you loosen the tension knobs. The stand will come crashing down if you're not paying attention. Also, the lock for the legs pinches the tube making it difficult to extend the poles when the leg are locked. I've used a friends lower cost JTL system and it was much better designed. I would not reccomend the Photek system.

I have had the system fall over once and had a few other times it almost came down due to the construction of the legs or the weight of the system.

I really like this setup. It holds up a muslin backdrop without any problems. The adjustable height is nice for lower areas. The only con I can find is that the main support bar is held together, once assymbled, by allen screws, which require a wrench to turn. I would have rather had push button or turn to lock type things.
Very glad I decided on this one
