This tripod seems to check all the boxes. Light, tall, sturdy, comoact, good value, and quality build feel. Easily holds my D700 with 70-200mm lens. It's so much better and more convenient than the older tripod it replaced. I also don't think the aluminum version of this tripod gives up nearly enough to make paying double the amount for the carbon fiber model.

Great for general travels though a little heavy for long hikes. Very stable and high enough for general use, well made with good warranty.

If you need to mount a light equipment it's great. I use Canon 1D, with a 24-70 mm 2.8, custom bracket, and quantum trio. It shakes. But the build of the tripod is fantastic. You're not going to miss a Bogen.

Hands down, the best Tripod for my type of work. I'm a cinematographer using DSLR. This tripod moves quick, packs small and is light as a feather. I was tempted on the Carbon Fiber version, but this is already amazing light, so I'll use the money saved to purchase a second one. Cons: none, I love it.

I bought this set of legs back in March (paired with the Sirui G-10 ball head) and couldn't be happier. It's incredibly light, and very stable considering the size and weight. I have had zero stability issues with my Canon 60D (with grip, Speedlight, and a medium weight lens--like a 16-35 f2.8L). I left this review after I noticed the previous reviewer's comments and one-star rating. They must have had a defective unit because I have had zero issues with the build quality or durability of the unit. The best thing about this tripod is the size. Folded, with the ball head installed, it fits inside my backpack. I've had no issues taking it through security checkpoints at airports, and it's a great tripod for travel. It has been up and down the east coast with me, out to the grand canyon, and to the UK in the short time I've had it. It hasn't failed me yet.

The SIRUI T-1005x Tripod is the lightest and the most compact aluminum tripod in the line. With its 5-section, easy folding design, it can be reversely folded into compact size of 13.39 in, which fits with one of the recommended SIRUI ball heads in the traveling case. Weighing only at 1.0 kg (2.2 lbs), this model is very light for an aluminum tripod and it can support up to 22 lbs of photographic equipment.
It also comes with a short center column that you may use interchangeably with the main center column for low-height shooting. Two adjustment settings are available that click in place automatically to lock the angle. The T-1005x is ideal for use with 35mm photographic cameras, DSLRs and digital or conventional type video camcorders. The recommended ball heads are SIRUI G-10, K-10X.
