I inherited the family 8mm movies, 3 boxes worth. 1) This unit works by upward projecting each film frame to the camera mounted above. 2) You have to align the film under two (2) little tabs that were kind of hard at first, but now I can swap a real in no time. 3) To rewind, you are suppose to swap the reels. There is no motor on the supply side. Much easier to just use a rounded off dowel and manually wind it back. 4) It does give you the option to align the frame Horizontaly and vertically as well as enlargement. There is no facility to adjust this on the fly, or pause and adjust. There are some adjustments for exposure and sharpness. I will use Filmora toclean things up some later. 5) All files are named in sequence 001.MP4, 002.MP4, 003.MP4. If you hit stop, the current reel will be named the next number in the sequence, and the next number will automatically increment. There is no reset for this function. 6) Warrenty clearly states 1 year or 200 reels (regardless of size) 7) You must save to a standard size SD card (not mini, but mini works with an adapter) The USB cable is only for transfering the files from the SD card to your computer. I just use the Card reader on my laptop. Shame you could not save directly to a connected laptop. 8) It takes just shy of 30 minutes to transfer a small (50 foot) reel to MP4. I have about 10, 150 foot reels. Oh the fun! 9) If you find on playback of the MP4 things got out of alignment, you have to redo the entire reel and it will be saved with a new file #. It does what it says. I added up what it would have cost me to send these out, I would have been over the $1000 mark, so $300 and some of my time is a big savings. I can now just set it up, set a 30 minute timer on my watch and walk away. I have now done eleven 50 foot reals and one 150 foot. Just have to keep and ear open for the little click click of the take up reel. What I would have like to have seen: Date stamp in the file name. Numbering file names reset. Frame adjust on the fly. Direct save to my laptop Little bit bigger display, you are given an analog TV out to RCA (yellow) Some newer TVs may not support this. Its all plastic. The GOOD: Does what it says. Just hope it holds up for all the 8mm reels I have.

So far, so good. The first one was defective. The light to illuminate the film didn't work and it stopped every 30 seconds or so. Adorama advised me to contact the manufacturer, which I did. The manufacturer said to return the unit to Adorama, as it could not be easily fixed. So I did. Adorama offered me a refund or replacement. I opted for the replacement as I really wanted this unit. The second one has worked flawlessly and does quite a good job at digitizing my 8mm and Super 8mm movies. I'm now watching old movies I haven't seen in 40 years!

Its a Christmas present, so hasn't been opened yet. I DO appreciate the fact that Adorama had NO issues with me using a pre paid card. I got the delevery in a better than timely manor. Thanks. Yes I have already recommended Adorama

Does a great job turning those old super 8s into a digital file. Easy to use. Does not record sound, it simply takes a photo of each frame.

this little machine has brought such happiness to my entire family. i can't say enough about the ease of use and the quality of the movies...MY 91 yr old father wanted to see his movies preserved and after looking at the cost on line of shipping them to a company to do i decided to do this myself...couldn't have been easier, couldn't have been happier with the results...i have about 10, 5" reels to go, but the smiles and memories that my dad and my siblings are reliving are beyond words...

No complaints. It does what it says it will do and quite well (IMHO). Loading it is a little bit tedious, but gets easier as you get used to it. I'm happy with it and the resulting transferred Super 8 movies now in easily watchable digital format on a flash drive.

Overall satisfied with the unit. The supply wheel has a tendency to spin forward then stop, then the slack is taken out and the wheel jerks forward again. This cause a jumpy video. Sometimes the splices between reels can get caught in the S-curves. Recommend sitting with the unit as it may require tweeking.

Works as advertized. records faster at 30fps so you need software to slow to the recorded speed of 16fps. Doesnt do sound on Super 8s. Works well on most reels. the plastic adapters to hold reels need an upgraded design. Can slip or reel stops and the inner pin keeps spinning. So great to see those old movies and be able to share.

I have used this at a not so local family history center. Restrictions and mileage made it economical to purchase the unit. It works as claimed and does a good job of reproducing the films. Remember to frame each role of film.

Does exactly what it promises fast enough and cheap enough. Interface is good. You can micro adjust framing which is a nice surprise

I scanned 20 3" reels with this machine, and found it very easy to use. Quality was good considering the price of the machine and that it is scanning a very small image, and is better than looking at it with a movie projector and screen. The frame rate is a touch on the high side, but I like it that way so I did not do any post processing.

I have transferred 4400 feet of film thus far. Worked great with the first reel and the last.

I would highly recommend this little machine if you just want to preserve all those old 8 mm or super 8 film reels onto a DVD or an SD card. So far I have downloaded 68 reels of film and no problems at all. Highly recommended.

This machine did a great job of converting my 8mm movie film to digital format for me to edit it for uniformity of action. It was easy to set up and the quality of the output was easily adjusted to produce a better quality product. The limitation is that this particular machine only allowed 4inch or less film reels. I do have over 30 7inch movies reels to convert and this machine really did not fill me immediate needs.

Product seems to work well; it digitizes each frame. A fifty foot reel takes about 1/2 hour to convert. The conversions vary in quality within the same reel, which is probably due to the age of the film. I would like to have had two super eight adapters to accomodate larger reels that required modifications beyond the capacity of the machine (but not beyond its photographic capacity) to allow reel to reel transfer. The supplied airnrush for cleaning the lenses is of very little value but cleaning the lenses is important. I easily imported the digitized material into Photoshop Premiere Elements.

Worked great right out of the box. About 4000 foot of film converted thus far. Larger reels will have to re-spooled on to 5" (200 ft) reels in order to do the scan and conversion. Quality of conversion largely depends on the quality of the original.

If you are like us, you have lots of 8mm films taken many many years ago, and you really don't know what's on them. Sending them to a company to digitize can be expensive. With this machine, you can digitize them yourself. We are having fun seeing our family's old films, and will be sharing them with many members (didn't know that cousin David was like a big brother when I was so little!). The machine is easy to use. Our main problem has been where the original film was spliced or has gotten brittle and now breaks. But we just stop the process, tape the pieces back together, and continue again.

I HAVE BEEN CONVERTING FILMS FOR YEARS PRIMARILY USING MOVIESTUFF PRODUCTS LIKE THE WORKPRINTER-XP AND CINEMATE-20. I DECIDED TO BUY THIS WOLVERINE AS IT IS STAND-ALONE, ALLOWING ME TO USE IT WHILE WATCHING BASEBALL GAMES, AND NOT BE TIED UPSTAIRS TO MY COMPUTER AND EQUIPMENT. THE MACHING ACTUALLY PRODUCES A VERY GOOD QUALITY CONVERSION. CERTAINLY NOT AS GOOD AS A RANK CONVERSION, BUT STILL A VERY GOOD RESULT. I EVEN TESTED A FILM WITH SIGNIFICANT VINEGAR SYNDROME (WARPED FILM), AND THE MACHINE SCANNED IT, EVEN THOUGH MY OTHER EQUIPMENT COULD NOT RUN IT. THAT'S A BID DEAL TO ME. MY ONLY CRITISM IS THAT IT ONLY HANDLES UP TO 5" (200') REELS. SO I MADE A SLIGHT MODIFICATION USING REWINDS TO HANDLE 7" (400') REELS. SO FAR, OVER 10,000 FEET SCANNED, NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. LASTLY, AS SOME ONE ELSE SAID, TECHNICAL SUPPORT IS EXCELLENT AND EXTREMELY HELPFUL. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS, BUT NOT HERE!! AND I AM NOT YELLING; I AM TYPING IN CAPS DUE TO A BROKEN KEYBOARD.

We purchased this to digitize over 45 rolls of Super 8. The Wolverine worked quite well and then restored the files with Adobe Premiere Elements 15 and the plugin for noise removal by Neat Video.

WE found several super 8 movies while rearanging my moms home decided it would be fun to see the old films again they are several decades old. Un packed the digital movie maker had first film on the computer in an hour. it is a slow process each 5 minute reel takes 30 minutes to download.. Have enjoyed the process.

I have processed over 2,000 ft. of film from the 50s and 60s and it is working great. I clean the film prior to use with a lint free cloth and Edwal Anti-Stat Film Cleaner. I also clean out the film track with an alcohol pad and canned air after each use. Tech support is very good. I had a problem of my own making and I was told exactly what I was doing wrong. I would buy this product again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to digitize 8mm and super 8mm film themselves. The process is time consuming but the end product is worth it.
