I do not have this connected to a TV. I connected to a computer. Great for music! Battleships sound awesome! I was torn between this and two other makes. I then found a store that had it on display. Tough choice choice was over in 5 minutes. This just blew the others away.

Started out with a YAS 108. The YAS is a good soundbar with built in subs, but I wanted more depth with a separate subwoofer so I returned the YAS 108 and purchased the YAS 207. Happy I did. I stuck with Yamaha because of their stellar reputation with sound. Would highly recommend

My unit died after 4 months but made contact with customer support who sent me a fix, which didn't work so sent in the paper forms and a new unit was delivered within in 14 days.

After buying a new TV, I realized my Sound Bar needed an upgrade too. The YAS 207 is the perfect intersection of quality and price - delivering fantastic sound quality without breaking the budget. The sound bar is especially great for playing video games, the sound range is way better than my old vizio sound bar which I have since thrown in the garbage.

I give this unit glowing reviews! I purchased this and the Samsung HW-N650 to compare. I fully expected the Samsung to outperform being that it was a 5.1 channel (in reality 3.1 unless you purchase separately and add the rear speakers), all the hype of their acoustic beam technology, etc. After 4 days of comparing, the Yamaha blew the Samsung out of the water. It was a clear winner across all applications: movies, TV, music. Set up is plug and play, and the finesse comes in understanding how to use the best sound setting for each application. Movies sound HUGE in the Virtual X Surround mode... just outrageous sound for the $$$. For TV shows, I learned to just put it in stereo mode and adjust the sub volume. Same for music. The App is awesome and you won't need to manage multiple handheld remotes. I highly, highly recommend this, and... if you have the ability, get 2 or 3 sound bars that you are considering and test them all. Speaking for myself, there was no comparison, and the Yamaha is a clear winner, great value for the money if you're looking for a clean, inexpensive 'surround' solution without moving to an entire surround sound audio system set up. Great sound, and the surround really sounds like you have a full system set up. The one con I have is that even at its lowest setting it is sometimes too loud.

I rated it 5 stars because of the price to value equation. It met and exceeded my expectations for a lower priced soundbar. Set up was seamless and working the controls to tweak the sound to my liking was straightforward. The dts virtual stage is a bit weak but I was not expecting the full 360 from this close to entry level setup. Its clear voice mode is very clear, and my music from the bluetooth connection is exceptional. Great sound investment.

I purchased this item without knowing that it does NOT work with receivers. This is not my discovery, it is the instructions from Yamaha, the manufacturer, and Pioneer, my receiver manufacturer. I don't understand how Yamaha can claim it will make music sound better because IF you use the HDMI ports with your receiver, you'll turn off the audio output to your speakers. Instead, music comes out of your monitor speakers. Real headache.

Setup was super fast and easy via HDMI (cable not included), and it doesn't have any splashy options and settings to wade through as do many hi-tech entertainment components. The "faux surround" effect is either on or off - there's no "stadium" or "music hall" type settings that true surround sound systems offer - but for what I watch, that's all I wanted. Bluetooth sub-woofer was pre-paired and ready to go - which is why the YAS-207 comes in an L-shaped box which includes both the bar and the matching sub-woofer. A main reason for me to get this was for the "clear voice" function, which is surprisingly effective for notably crisper dialogue. the only reason I withheld the 5th star is there's no on-screen display of volume level as you raise and lower (or mute) the sound bar volume. Since the soundbar intercepts the hdmi signal between the set-top cable box and the TV, it seems it would be easy to put a superimpose a graphic. At this price-point, it's a terrific, rich sounding unit. I would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their TV sound without the cost or installation effort of a true 5.1 surround system.

Not a soundbar meant for portable usage.. it cannot fit inside a check-in bag.!! Amazing sound at low cost.

It sounds great after you down load the surround sound app. from Yamaha's down load site. I just feel it should come ready to go for all sound. It be nice if it had a Wi-Fi feature to do this. But again, for the money this sound bar is excellent. I believe even most audiophiles would agree. To down load you have to have a clean thumb-drive to do the down load and follow the instructions on the down load site. The controls buttons on the sound bar are flush and activated by touch which are hard to see.

After reading all of these great reviews about this product I was extremely excited to use this soundbar. It proved to be a disappointment. I don't know if something is broken within my sound bar or not but vocals sound extremely grainy; voices sound like they are connected to an analog speaker that is partially plugged in. I tried every sound mode possible and they just sound worse than the previous. Surround sound mode is terrible. Clear voice just makes this problem more apparent. I would like to hope my sound bar is broken and someone could replace it, but I highly doubt it.

If I have been watching TV and listening through the HDMI (ARC) connection tor two or more days the YAS-207 will not go to bluetooth mode when I use the Yamaha remote to power up and switch the sound bar to change ti input. If I then pull the power plug on the YAS-207, power up via the remote the YAS-207 switches to bluetooth input and connects instantly. I have updated the firmware with the YAS-207-NoAAC-MAPX-USB-v3302-b61.07-06161412.ybin file. Thanks

I purchased the YAS-207. I was supper excited about purchasing this product. I choose this product over the LG SJ9 and the Samsung HWK850. I thought this had the right blend of new technology, smaller physical foot print and reasonably priced. After completing the firmware update (no way to verify it went through). I tried testing 3D surround, this never worked. I desperately wanted to try DTS Virtual: X but there is no indicator that it's working. According to multiple sites if a DVD has Dolby Atmos the bar will be able to be used in DTS Virtual: X. So far I am very underwhelmed and maybe sending this product back.
