While I could use a crescent wrench or pliers to tighten and loosen the lock ring, this tool is a compact sure wrench for that purpose. Glad I bought it.

I usually use a big adjustable wrench. Treated myself to so ething new, and it works and I like the weight of it. Beats the heck out of thar big ole cumbersome adjustable wrench.
