CS made me a customer for life, badass ppl at RCBS
Man i love RCBS their customer service is absloutely top notch! I emailed support to ask if the expander tip of the decapper unit was avaliable, and explained why and what happened. The CS Rep told me this was the unit I needed to buy to replace the expander head. (some 5. 56 casings are Hella hard crimped into the primer pockets and I had sheered off part of the expander broke the decapping pin and bent the stud) I explained how the stud had bent and the expander split and decap pin snapped, the rep said that theyre going to send me a new one under the warranty! I was relieved to hear that because I was just looking for the right parts to replace the expander and stud. They went even further to send me a new one on the house. . . I was so happy I ordered another one anyway to keep as a backup, for that just in case situation if it happens again. I love RCBS and their customer service is above and beyond what I expected. They definitely have a customer for life now, I've gotten several rifle die sets from them and they are excellent quality the customer service is unbeatable in my experience. Don't hesitate to email their support, they respond really quick and in my case they not only provided the info I was looking for, they went even further than that and sent me a replacement decap stud and expander with a decap pin for nothing.

I bought one for a spare because sometimes these rods get bent and after straightening them a few times they will break. Not the fault of the manufacturer, these things take a constant beating when I process 10,000 cases. I have never had a problem with their performance, I'm just tough on tools like these when I get in a hurry. Good part.

What size is the locknut that goes on the rod?
The threads that holds the decapping pin became stripped after decades of use. I wonder if anyone knows the thread size of the rod itself? I lost the locking nut and cannot find the thread size nor a replacement nut.

Does the job just fine. The price is really good. If you're processing large volumes of brass, then you should have a spare or two laying around.

Just what I needed.
Have an old set of RCBS . 223 Remington dies that have processed untold thousands of cases and I finally needed to replace the decap unit because I was momentarily careless and bent it. Although this design is different from the original that came with my 1980's die set, it works perfectly. I like this design better than the original too.

decap for sizing die-.223
direct replacement works fine. also bought a decapping die worked great on my 30-30, did over 400 in 1.5 hours.

223 Decap
When you reload the number of 223 shells I do, an extra of these are a "must have" The process continues with an extra and they are an inexpensive protection.
