About RCF HDL 53-AS

The HDL 53-AS is the perfect extension of the HDL 50-A system. This 3x12" subwoofer comes in the same housing as the HDL 50-A and allows perfect integration in the array shape. It can be flown above HDL 50-A in one array or as a separate sub-array behind the HDL 50-A array, with the same shape, to allow cardioid dispersion in a wide low and low-to-mid range and keep the stage clean from feedbacks.

• 3300 Watt Peak power - 1650 Watt RMS
• 139 dB max SPL
• 35 Hz - 100 Hz frequency response
• 3 x 12" Woofer
• DSP controlled Input section with selectable presets
• RDNet remote and control
• Maximum output, perfect audio fidelity
• Tour grade cabinet and mechanics

Innovative Design
The 3 x 12" RCF Precision neodymium woofers with 3" voice coil ensure powerful coverage in a frequency range between 35 Hz and 100 Hz. The accurate design and assembly of mechanical components allows an easy rigging above, side to side or in the back of the HDL50-A. The integration of three channels of digital amplification and the advanced digital processing sets a new standard for low distortion and noise.

Fully Integrated System
The HDL53-A is an active high-power bass module that is equipped with both modern and innovative technology. Each component - from the power supply and the input board with DSP, to the output stages and woofers - has been consistently and specially developed by the RCF experienced engineering teams for the realization of the HDL50-A system and carefully matched to each other. This complete integration of all components allows not only superior performance and maximum operational reliability, but also provides users with easy handling and plug & play comfort.

Large Scale Sound In A Compact Size
The HDL53-A is an active high-power bass module that is equipped with both modern and innovative technology. Advanced Processing
A 3300W peak power digital amplifier powers the HDL53-A. New generation DSP handles all the processing within the cabinet.

New Algorithm
A 32-bit floating-point DSP processing manages:

• System's crossover and transducers' alignment
• Programmable system's equalization
• Input sensitivity reduction
• Soft limiter and gentle compressor for very high signal inputs
• RMS current monitoring and transducer protection

A specially developed algorithm takes care of the frequency-dependent soft limiter, offering the listener the same system linearity, from very low-level signals to the maximum amplifier output.

3300W Peak Power Digital Amplifier
RDNet is a proprietary protocol for RCF products that provides straightforward and intuitive monitoring and control of the audio system down to every device (object). Each device has its own DSP, so it is possible to address specific presets or modifications of parameters to single or groups of objects. A network user can change level, delay, EQ (including FiR) and other parameters, including advanced subwoofer configurations.

Not only loudspeakers: it is possible to control routing and parameters of multiple RCF devices, such as digital matrixes or amplifiers. RDNet checks all the connected devices, recognizes and adds them as objects on the main window, thanks to the auto-scan function. The real-time monitoring features a multitude of parameters such as fan speed, temperature, inclination of the single speaker, VU Meters and peak levels. The RDNet protocol runs on the ultra-stable RS-485 communication protocol through the RCF Control8 or the RCF Control2.

Networked Control And Much More

Each Device is a Building Block Of Rdnet
The sound engineer has complete control of every single speaker, individually or grouped. Each device, with its own built-in communication board and DSP, is an active part of the brain of the system, able to store presets, receive commands and continuously send status information. When connected, RDNet checks all the devices, recognizes and adds them as objects on the main window, thanks to the auto-scan function. A Device has a comprehensive monitoring: VU Meter, clip indicator, limiter intervention, device status down to single components, communication issues and more. A complete management of the device or groups of devices is straight forward from the RDNet software.

Follow The Set-up Of The Show
The operator is able to chose the best way to work on the system: Offline for the remote designer or Online, selecting the Soundcheck or Concert modes, for a safer system control during the show.

Groups Arrays And Zones
All the objects can be controlled in Groups. Arrays are a different kind of Groups with customizable proprieties: Zones, Air Compensation, Cluster Size, FiRPHASE Gain. It is possible to Group Array objects in Zones: every Zone has its own color for a simple discrimination of the parameters.

Advanced Equalizer
The EQ is available in many types: PEQ, Shelving(hi-low), Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley, Elliptic and Bessel.. Every Zone has three different fixed FIR equalizers with gain control. Every Array Group has a global control of the FiRPHASE Gain for parallel increment/decrement of the Zone FIRs.

Get The Most Of Your System
An incremental control to shape the Air Absorption Compensation, very useful in case of humidity or temperature changes (e.g. soundcheck on a sunny day, concert by night). The low-mid shaping of the line array is an automatic calculation based on the Cluster Size to always obtain the perfect linear frequency response from the whole system.

Easy Subwoofer Configuration
The new subwoofer configurations help the engineer to set up subwoofer Cardioids, Arcs or EndFire configurations in one go.

Components

60 Plus Years Heritage In Audio
RCF is one of only a few loudspeaker manufacturers worldwide that have the ability to completely design and manufacture transducers, speakers systems, as well as electronics for amplification and control. More than 60 years of heritage in Audio, combined with our state-of-the-art research and development and manufacturing processes, allow us to seamlessly integrate all the ingredients to design and build the DLINE Series.

High Power Woofers
• 3 X 3.0" voice coil neodymium 12" woofers
• Water resistant fiber doped cone
• Polycotton M-roll surround
• Hypervented neodymium magnetic structure

The Most Advanced Woofer Technology
The magnetic structure is powered by a large neodymium magnet that provides an extremely high flux density in the gap. The new hyper-vented aluminum basket and magnetic assembly design provide an excellent heat dissipation and lower power compression. Special air-forced ventilations are provided for voice coil, magnet assembly and basket. M-roll surround and spider design offer great linearity and precise reproduction. The waterproof body cone treatment and polycotton surround ensure a durable performance in every application.

Cabinet
RCF engineers constructed an innovative housing consisting of rigid plywood and side panels made of plastic with integrated handles for creating a low weight.

Flyware & Mechanics
The integrated mechanics are both fast and reconfigurable, allowing the system engineer to create J-shaped and spiral arrays starting with 0.2deg. splay angles. The angling of the system is at the rear of a single back bone. The hardware is designed so that the angle can be adjusted prior to use, on the ground and slip automatically into the correct position when pulling up the array. The system administrator has to then only fix with a lock pin angle. This allows a very easy and fast set up.

Tour Grade Cabinet
The HDL 53-AS tour grade system comes in a composite wooden-polypropylene enclosure and is equipped with two aluminum side handles with rubber handgrips and two rear handles for portability. The heavy-duty front grille is powder coated. A special transparent-to-sound foam backing on the inside helps to further protect the transducers from dust.

Water Resistant Baltic Birch Plywood
The cabinet is made in high quality Baltic Birch plywood with every layer glued with a special adhesive that makes the cabinet completely water resistant even before the painting process.

Heavy Duty Polyurea Paint
The paint department inside our factory in Italy utilizes a special polyurea paint to create a very thick full coating of the cabinet making it highly res
