Review Summary
The TT45-CXA is a full range, high performance symmetrical monitor. The linear curve response, the consistent coverage and acoustic output make the TT45-CXA the professional choice for medium and large stages. The voicing is accurate and deep, the sound transparent in the mids and extremely accurate at very high frequencies. The size is compact and the profile low for a discrete appearance. The TT45-CXA is a full range, high power active system that sets a new standard in the touring and theatre sound reinforcement. By producing flat amplitude and phase response, full range bandwidth and exceptional impulse response, the TT45-CXA far exceeds the capabilities of conventional stage monitors.
2200 Watt, three-way class D amplifier
50deg. x 90deg. constant directivity coverage
2 x 10" neodymium woofers, 3.0" voice coil
Horn loaded 1.4" neo compression driver, 4.0" v.c.
Symmetrical design
Multifunctional cabinet
DSP processing
Onboard RDNet control
The design philosophy of the new products in the TT+ Series is based upon offering ready-to-use solutions and tools to the sound engineer. A key advantage is the ability to sustain very high power with efficient sound pressure levels. Intense sound levels are created with remarkably high definition and extended dynamic range.
Lightweight
Modern construction materials result in light mechanical weight ratios, for practical flying and portability. The TT45-CXA loudspeakers are very easy to move and transport, for unparalleled user's comfort.
Low Profile
The limited size and slim design of TT45-CXA monitors not only helps during transport, but also allows to improve the visibility on stage. RCF monitors leave more space for the musicians and ensure a better view to the audience. The beam width remains consistent across the horn's operating frequency range and coverage (50deg.x90deg.), thus allowing the performer great freedom of movement within the coverage area.
One Loudspeaker, Multiple Functions
The TT45-CXA monitors can also be used as speakers for a PA system. The cabinet features an ultra-resistant steel pole mount, ensuring perfect reliability and stability to the system.
Class D - State Of The Art Power
Two independent digital amplifiers 1100 W low frequencies, 1100 W for the high frequency driver deliver an astonishing output power making the TT45-CXA one of the most powerful symmetrical monitors in its category. The input section provides In/Out XLR connectors, central encoder to control system parameters, RDNet Input and Output. Their class D amplifiers offer hi-fi sound, extremely low distortion with negligible quiescent noise and stable burst response.
Accurate Design And Great Efficiency
The amplification module is housed in a separate chamber and mechanically insulated from the cabinet's vibration, for maximum reliability in the long term. Thanks to the incredible efficiency of Their amplifiers, no fans are needed for a very quiet functioning.
New Algorithm
Newly developed algorithms offer constant linearity from very low level signals to the maximum amplifiers' output. A 32-bit floating-point DSP with 48 KHz processing takes care of:
2-way crossover's and transducers' alignment
8 programmable equalizations
Programmable output time delay
Input Sensitivity reduction
Soft limiter and gentle compressor for very high signal inputs
RMS current monitoring and transducers' protection
Input noise reduction
A specially developed algorithm takes care of the frequency dependent soft limiter offering to the listener the same linearity of the system from very low level signals to the maximum amplifiers output.
Rdnet On Board
A dedicated processing area is available through the included RDNet input board. Remote monitoring, special custom equalizations, high and low pass, single way Solo and Mute and many other options are all available on RDNet.
The Rear Panel
The rear panel features a simple rotary encoder that allows full control of all the speaker's functions. A simple command on the panel allows to disable the input panel and remotely control the speaker.
60 Plus Years Heritage In Audio
RCF is one of only a few loudspeaker manufacturers worldwide that have the ability to completely design and manufacture transducers, speakers systems, as well as electronics for amplification and control. More than 60 years of heritage in Audio, combined with their state-of-the-art research and development and manufacturing processes, allow them to seamlessly integrate all the ingredients to design and build the TT+ Series.
Transducer Technology
The TT45-CXA's horn exhibits constant Q. Frequency response is uniform across the specified beam width, with minimal side lobes. The compact active TT45-CXA enclosure houses 2 symmetrical 10-inch neodymium cone woofers and a 4-inch diaphragm compression driver, along with phase-corrected control electronics and amplification.
HF Design
The HF transducers are high performance 4-inch diaphragm compression drivers with a 1.5 inch exit throat featuring several state-of-the-art technologies. RCF has developed an oxygen-free process of moulding ultra thin films made of pure titanium into high-quality precision diaphragms. Their process offers superior sonic quality extended to the highest audible frequencies, which guarantees consistent power handling and reliability. The diaphragm and suspension are precision formed from .05 mm (.002 in.) pure titanium. A special dampening adhesive is applied in the area where the titanium suspension is bonded to the assembly ring, in order to remove distortions or resonances.
Direct Drive Voice Coil Assembly
The voice coil is designed using a strong, high-temperature Kapton voice coil former and copper-clad aluminum wire with a rectangular profile. Parts are assembled using advanced, especially formulated adhesives. Proprietary annealing processes ensure optimal assembly resistance and safe operation even under extreme thermal conditions. The top of the former is bent and bonded directly to the edge of the titanium diaphragm resulting in a Direct Drive configuration. Direct Drive ensures an optimal energy transfer between the voice coil and the dome, thus providing a smoother and extended frequency response beyond 10 kHz and reducing break ups and distortions. The result is high power handling with excellent mechanical and thermal properties, that make the compression driver particularly reliable and robust.
Woofer Design
The TT45-CXA new woofers offer an extremely fast and accurate bass response and a natural and neutral mid-range response. A very strong neodymium magnetic structure guarantees good dynamics and precision, while a new and unique 3.0" voice coil provides a very high power handling - especially if compared to standard voice coils. The unique Dual-forced air venting system guarantees a very efficient ventilation to minimize power compression and provide higher power handling.
Inside/Outside Voice Coil
RCF has developed a unique voice coil, combining the advantages of the inside/outside technology with the superior quality of polyimide-imide materials (wire resins and formers resins). The inside/outside coil offers many advantages:
The dissipation surface is doubled
The adhesion area to the former is doubled
During thermal expansion the former is squeezed between inside and outside layers ensuring the best mechanical resistance
Their inside/outside formers are made from polyimide-imide fiberglass and the area between the coil and the cone is a triple layer made of Nomex - fiberglass - Nomex, for maximum stiffness and accurate sound transfer.
Compactness And Lightweight
The TT45-CXA two-way monitors are exceptionally lightweight, for easiness of transport and positioning. Their compact size facilitates usage for several different purposes and allows better visibility on stage.
Water Resistant Baltic Birch Plywood
The cabinet is made in high quality Baltic Birch plywood with every layer glued with a special adhesive that makes the cabinet completely water resistant even before the painting process.
Heavy Duty Polyurea Paint
The paint department inside their factory in Italy utilizes a special polyurea paint to create a very thick full coating of the cabinet making it highly resistant to scratches and bumps.
Heavily Braced Internal Structure
The internal structure of is heavily braced to survive long term use and transportation and all the parts are assembled on metal inserts with metric screws. On top and bottom of the cabinet two large metal brackets are integrated in the cabinet for safe rigging day after day. The amplifier is housed in a separate chamber from the transducers to offer the best efficiency and reliability.
Handles & Pole Mount
The cabinets feature an aluminum top handle and a side pole mount. Both are designed to facilitate transport, positioning and loading operations.
