This is the most sensitive microphone I have ever used. If you plug into an audio interface like the focusrite scarlett solo... and use headphones to monitor the microphone audio... you will hear sounds nearby that you don't readily hear with the naked ear.

Excellent microphone! I've watched hundreds of microphone tests online and was absolutely impressed when I heard it compared against the Neumann 103. The differences in the sound of the two were so negligible that, at this price point, I had to order. This will probably be a go-to microphone I use for voice acting for years to come.

Bought this to replace my Blue Yeti USB mic. This Rhode NT1, paired with a Focusrite solo interface is a fantastic upgrade. It's so much quieter, and makes recording in my relatively acoustically untreated room easier. I use this for my audiobook recording work, and it does the job perfectly. 10/10 would recommend this mic.

I got this amazing mic on a really good price. My voice sounds brighter and it isn't very sensitive to background noise which is what I have been looking for. It has a really good build quality and a very simple but elegant design. Microphone doesn't weight too much so that means it is very portable. Good thing about buying this package, is that the mic doesn't come alone, it already comes with its predetermined shock mount and a pop filter from the same brand which can save a lot of time and some money. Everything I needed came in the box.

I haven’t bought this mic, but I wanted to say that the description for this item is confusing. The photo shows the sm6 shock mount (ordinary elastic) but the description says it’s got the SMR (advanced Rycote) shock mount. Which shock mount is actually included?

For voiceover and narrative work — decidedly better than the NT1-A because it lacks the artificial brightness boost provided by that mic.
