Happy with the Rode NTG2 Shotgun Mic and have already tested it both indoor and outdoor and I'm so impressed with the results. Great sound! And the fact that I can use an AA battery for the phantom power gives it a versatility I can't get with many other mics.

Works really well and a great price. Yeah there are many shotguns out there but this one does a pretty good job . sound is clear , only has been tested when used a boom.

This stuff is all pretty new to me. This semester I’m learning about sound so I decided to give this product a shot. Honestly its really great quality and the bundle has everything you need; at least for a beginner like me. I recommend it if you don’t know much about microphones and need equipment; I think it was a great deal. Also is very true to the pictures.

Have worked with several other shotgun microphones and the Rode NTG 2 had exceptional clarity. I have the microphone mounted on an E-Image boom and a Rode Transmitter. For dramatic and mild action scenes it delivered excellent quality audio and separation from unwanted frequency hum.

NTG-2 is well known for being a quality mic at a great price. This kit is a good way to go with included boom pole and deadcat.

I paired this microphone with my C100 for a wedding recently. Even though it was in the back of the church, I was able to pick up the officiant, along with ambient crowd noises. I also use this when I make my short films at home. I chose this mic over the others because I love the Røde brand and it's quality. Also, I couldn't afford the NTG-3. For the price, you can't beat the audio and build quality!

Terrific combo perfect for basic outdoor shotgun work on docs/shorts/indie features. My only complaint is that its a little bit 'plastic'. But as long as its being transported carefully it performs as it should. - would be great if Rode made a canvas bag for it

Great mic. Price is a little steep, but this mic is great for indoor and outdoor use. With a dead cat it is pretty much noise free outdoors.

I gave it a three star "Meh" rating because the kit did not contain a short XLR cord to attach mic to the camera, just a 20" monster you can't drag around easily. It comes with a camera mount, so why no cord?

I like this for dialog when I am filming a movie. I use it mainly with a Rode Boom pole. Good sound, well made and very directional. I like that I can use it with phantom power or batteries.

if you need a boom and there is humming in the room...call in, sweeps out unwanted sound like a broom
