The heart of this high-quality microphone lies in its matched pair of highly sensitive 1/2" cardioid condenser capsules arranged in a coincident XY pair. This design ensures a broad stereo image with a natural depth, enhancing the overall audio quality.
The Stereo VideoMic Pro On-Camera Rycote Microphone is ergonomically designed to fit perfectly with DSLRs, consumer camcorders, and large-sensor video cameras. Its integrated shock mounting system offers superior isolation from vibration and mechanical noise, ensuring that your recording quality remains pristine and undisturbed.
The microphone's lightweight yet robust multi-strand cable provides excellent acoustic decoupling from the camera, resulting in significantly lower noise transference than traditional audio cables. The user-friendly design extends to the rear of the microphone body, which houses the power and equalization controls.
The microphone features a high pass filter at 75Hz, specifically designed to eliminate noise generated by air conditioning, traffic, and other undesirable low-frequency interference. A -10dB PAD allows users to reduce the microphone's sensitivity, making it suitable for recording loud sound sources such as live music or sporting events.
Like its predecessor, the Stereo VideoMic Pro also features a +20dB level boost, specifically designed to provide a higher quality signal with DSLR cameras. When activated, the typically low-quality camera preamp level can be reduced, resulting in a lower noise floor and much clearer recording.
