I can't believe that Amazon is selling this scanner. Beware if you expect it to work with Windows 11. I cannot find a driver that will allow me to use it. A pure waste of money.

Total pc of garbage, combined with ZERO support. You can get a rep M thru F during a small window. They will have their script ready for you. Ofcourse asking the simplest of questions Did you power it on did you make sure the cable was plugged in securely and then after they've exhausted Those tough questions they are out of ideas.

I have been using this scanner for years and love it! It is excellent quality! My father has a lot of 35mm slides and I love that I can scan 35mm slides and negatives in addition to the photos.

Got great reviews so I tried twice. Support staff does not speak English well and could not understand. Could never get to connect with Windows 11. Horrible experience. I did not feel like a VIP as Shaq promised.

Just purchased this as an upgrade from an Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner. Was looking forward to getting it, but upon it's arrival, it's DOA right out of the box. As soon as I put the power to it, and plug it into the USB port, I get a flashing Orange Error Light. I'm getting the unit replaced, and am hoping the next one works.

Awesome scanner unless your computer is Windows 11. Between Windows and Epson, no one can get the scanner app work consistently. So this awesome scanner is crippled by a dysfunctional app. There are some generic apps that allow basic scanning, but this apps don't support negatives and slides. Also, the basic apps don't have the necessary tools to clean up images, slides and scanners.

I have 2 of the V600 Perfection Photo Scanners and both work very well. Setup is easy right out of the box. I use these primarily for photo print scanning and found that they deliver excellent results. I previously owned the older V500 models as well. The V600 is a very affordable quality scanner.

Cheaply made! I was eager to try this based on reviews form artists but Ive now purchased and returned two for blinking error lights straight out the box. Pieces broken inside and that was a sealed box and unit so they are either being damaged in warehouses or during shipment. I see tons of reviews showing this issue and epson support just says return it and get another! How many consumers have they scammed out of money for these? No mention of an unlock lid in unbox/setup instructions. If there are this many defective why have these not been recalled/removed from shelves?

received the V600 as a gift. called tech support to connect. Unable to. After over an hour on the phone, unit as determined to be defect. Epson sent a replacement an experienced same issue.

I bought this primarily to scan old 120 medium format B&W negatives and also 35 mm B&W negatives and slides. It has worked very well for all of these purposes and I have saved a huge amount of money on the medium format negatives as compared to what it would cost for commercial scans of similar resolutions. My only problem was that I was unable to get some negatives to lie absolutely flat even after a number of attempts at remounting them. Whether or not this was the cause of regions of the scan appearing darker than others (typically some portion divided by the rest by a "line" (region of change) at angles that seemed like they were related to the uneven negative, I am not sure. I could not make out such regions when I examined the negatives under a loop but these were much smaller "views" than I could get with a scanned image so I am not sure what was the culprit. In any case, I never had this problem with negative strips that laid absolutely flat in the holder and the results were fixable in my photo editor (DxO). Overall, I have been extremely impressed by the scanner.

I have owned this V600 Photo Scanner for about a month now and am extremely pleased. It is very well made. I scan both 35mm negatives and old photographs and I consider the results to be outstanding! However, as a someone who is technically challenged, I found the learning curve to bit harder than I thought. I do wish that the instructions had been written in simpler terms and in more detail. Once I got the basics down, I am very pleased! Being able to recover old photos and negatives that otherwise would have been lost makes it all worth while!

First time buying an Epson product, heard great things about them. Picked up this scanner for a home business and it's dead right out of the box. Immediately get an error message, can't connect to anything, completely useless piece of junk at this point. Will never look at Epson product again, do not recommend for anyone who cares about quality control and customer service.

Ordered direct from Epson, it arrived in perfect condition, and worked as expected. My wife is a watercolor artist and she is very happy with the scans that she gets from the V600. I would recommend it without hesitation. I would like it if Epson included the Arcsoft "Scan-n-stitch" software with it.

I bought this scanner specifically for scanning old slides & negatives; my basic printer/scanners work fine for regular documents & photos. The V600 produces very good scans, albeit somewhat slowly on the higher resolution settings. I hope its longevity is as good as the scan quality. Other reviewers commented on dust under the scanning glass. I also noticed what seemed to be specks of dust (or similar imperfections) under the main scan glass and another under the transparency glass. The imperfections can usually be edited out of the scanned photo afterwards, without too much difficulty. But they do indicate a significant lack of quality control in manufacturing. I would have returned the unit for replacement; but taking what I felt was a less wasteful route, I requested (and received) a significant price adjustment from the merchant. The scanner lid is a bit tricky to open initially, the very first time out of the box. I followed the advice of others online who said start from the back and gently pry it up because it's sort of vacuum-stuck. Yes, the V600 DOES work with Windows 10! Based on previous experience with my Epson printer, I expected the V600's user interface to be tricky; and I got what I expected. The CD included with the scanner contains outdated drivers, so one must go to Epson's website to download the latest versions. Most importantly, I had to download/install Epson Scan 2 - not the original, older, Epson Scan which comes with the V600 installation CD! Epson Scan 2 works quite well with the unit. It's a major improvement over the original Epson Scan. It allows for saving of customized scan settings (nice!). I spent quite awhile figuring out how to get the V600 to stop cropping off the edges of my slides on the scanned images, a complaint other reviewers also had. Solution: From the scan options screen, go to ADVANCED>THUMBNAILS>CROP and select LARGE for the crop size (SMALL is the default setting). Also note that the V600's cropping works much better on slides that are set in cardboard holders. Many slides from around 1980 are set in plastic holders, which do not block light as well and therefore cause the scanner to randomly mis-crop some images. Most often, this is simply a matter of having to manually crop the image further at a later time; but worst case scenario, I made a heavy paper cutout to lay on top of the slide so it will scan/crop correctly. The V600's slide trays have a bit of wiggle room, so adjusting slide placement in them can also help with cropping issues. The trays themselves are somewhat flimsy, but they work; give attention to putting them in place precisely, and treat them gently! Another note: don't change the name of the destination folder on your computer while a scan is in progress -- the files will not be able to be saved and you'll need to re-do the scan. The dust removal feature seems to work fairly well, as does Digital ICE; but using ICE increases the scanning time exponentially and doesn't seem to produce as sharp of an image, thus I rarely use it. I prefer to get a high quality "raw scan" and manually edit it later in Windows Photos. That said, it is very important to keep the glass - and the items you're scanning - very clean to avoid extra dust in images. The scanner-computer connection does "time out" after a set number of seconds, but this can be changed in settings from as little as 30 seconds to as much as 5 minutes. I have found that when first turning the scanner on, it takes a minute or so for the connection to establish. If it times out or won't connect, I close Epson Scan and restart the app (sometimes this must be done a few times if one is rushing). I did have one day where nothing would make the computer/scanner connect, but eventually they did - after 3 restarts, and reinstalling Epson Scan 2. Not sure what happened there. Given a choice, I typically prefer Canon products. But overall, so far I am reasonably satisfied with the V600. There don't seem to be any similar scanners currently available that would be any better, and I feel the small self-contained units made by other manufacturers for slide scanning are not going to produce very good quality images. My advice to others considering the V600: Be prepared to play along with the idiosyncrasies of the system, and inspect your unit carefully for defects!

My primary use of the scanner is film negatives but I have also used it for old photo prints and it works very well on all of this. The settings in the Professional mode are all very useful and easy to manage once the user's manual is studied.

After 5+ years Epson still will not write software/firmware for Apple Mac. If you want epson scanners, seach first for Hamrick software so your scanner does what it is supposed to do.

I primarily use this scanner for scanning film as I am a film photographer and I am blown away by how much precision and detail it is capable of including being able to actually produce useful images from film negatives that are so dark you wouldn't think there's anything there worth seeing. Besides film, it works great for photos, and it really does a great job at accurately scanning the colors. As for other features i love, using the software it's able to tell the boundaries between photos and automatically create separate image files for them if you've got multiple photos loaded at a time. They also have excellent tools for correcting dust, scratches, and near perfect color restoration for faded or discolored photos. Epson really gives you a lot for your money. Only one thing I wish was different is that it was a bit thinner. It is a very chunky scanner, almost 5 inches thick, but I guess they need all that room for it to be able to scan with so much precision,

I have used in Epson perfection photo scanner for many years. When I found there were no drivers for my old scanner, I started looking for another photo scanner. Epson is the only company that makes a scanner, which will scan 8 x 10, 4 x 5, 4 X 5 negs / positives and other formats down to 35MM. I am happy with my new scanner. Thank you Epson your product is both well built and economical.

The V600 came very promptly and gave me great color. The Epson scan software is so easy and consistent it's a home run every time. I will now calibrate it with my color checker display pro to match my other displays and cameras. This will happen in my dark basement so no stray light hits the task. Now my Epson Perfection V600 will be perfect. I have a big project of negatives to scan and this V600 will make it easy.

Epson shipped us a defective scanner that had loose parts rattling around the inside of the unit. Scanner carriage would not move, just stuck in the locked position even when unlocked.

Bought 2weeks ago. images produced superior images to HP G4050 scanner it replace. As stated by other Mac user. epson software was unworkable, there is a very capable work around, down load VueScan imaging software. Used for long time to over come HP's lack of support for Mac users.

Less resolution and capabilities of a standard (and newer software) features of a Canon $80.00 flatbed. It's a chunky, large paperweight. It does not communicate with MAC OS 13.0+ Ventura and there are no downloads available in Epson support. So you have to rely on purchasing aftermarket software which doesn't meet the same capacity of this paperweight's boasts. My last Epson purchase.

I bought the Epson Perfection V600 scanner directly from Epson's website. It was a little cheaper than the other popular vending website. Delivery took a few days, but it arrived in good condition exactly when they said it would. I bought this scanner after doing a lot of research on which scanner to use. I have thousands of 35mm slides that I need to scan to digitize them for safekeeping and future use. I found a review on this scanner on the other popular vending website in which the author provided extreme details of scanning slides with this scanner. I used his information as my starting point and quickly learned how to use this scanner to a high performance level. I have scanned over 100 slides to my iMac so far, and I am very pleased with the performance of the scanner and the results. There is a workflow you will need the develop with this, including image enhancing to remove dust/film defects and optimize exposure and clarity, depending on the condition of the original slides you are working with. In other words, the scanner does not "fix" the image, nor does it magically provide a perfect digital image. But it does a wonderful job at scanning the slide accurately and producing an accurate digital image that can be edited/enhanced/used. I'm not a "professional ", but I am demanding in what I want as an end result, and I strive for artistic and perfect images. This scanner is a cost effective tool that is crucial for that goal.

I just purchased the Epson Perfection V600 Photo stand alone scanner on 7/25/23 and am still working with Epson to download software to work with MyMac Ventura 13.4.1 computer. I have now spent about an hour and a half. I may have to return the scanner.

As a watercolor artist I use the Epson Perfection V600 to scan in my original paintings. The image resolution is high quality with minimal color wash out that requires very little editing and allows me to make prints for resale. I highly recommend this scanner to anyone as it should perform perfectly for many needs.

This scanner has been in heavy use in my office, since I bought it new in 2009. I paid about 1/2 the price for which it is selling today (2023). It always performed flawlessly until very recently, when the scanning speed started to slow down. I know exactly where the problem is - the grease on the Rail Cylinder hardens, and sticks, instead of lubricating - perfectly normal after so many years. I've serviced this before on customers' scanners, and it is a common ageing symptom. I di...
