Remin Tri-Kart 800 Equipment and Luggage Hand Cart

I use this cart to carry my harp through the hospital where I work. As a therapeutic musician, I visit several patients a day, often on different floors or different wings of the hospital campus. I have used other styles of cart before, but I was looking for something to ease the strain on my back, and I found it in the Remin Tri-Kart 800. The retractable second platform with spinner wheels makes steering and cornering easy and smooth. I purchased the handlebars separately and I consider them essential. I gave only 4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons. FIrst, I think it's cheap of the company to charge extra for handlebars. Second, the platform base isn't a solid surface, which may be fine for loading crates, but it doesn't work for my purposes. To keep my instrument from falling into the 5"+ spaces between the wires of the base I had to improvise and attach a platform on my own. All in all, I am pleased and would recommend it.

This is the second one our IT company has had. The first on we purchased about 25 years ago and lasted until a computer switch slid off a shelf and broke the plastic handle on the cart. I did order a replacement handle for it, but also ordered a second cart so we can move gear into and out of places more efficiently. I have never worried about overloading it, doorways seem to be more of a limiting factor as does my own strength. They are are amazing!

As others have reviewed, great product. I have had the Remin Tri-Kart 800 for about 10 years. Works well on a paved or hard surface. I use it to carry a portable photography studio consisting of one or two duffel bags of photography equipment, light stand bag, umbrella bag and small bag of snacks/drinks. When purchased, I bought the extension handle bars as a option. It makes it easy to pull, maneuver and pull kart over cubs or ease down stairs/curbs. When going over curbs or stairs it is possible that the cart tilts sideways and you will have a tendency with the extension handles to twist the handle bar to correct the tilted cart. This can cause the rods connecting to the handle bars to bend or crack the plastic cross bar that contains the handle bar latch that keeps the frame in a compressed state for travel. This cracking of the plastic cross piece happened to me. I repaired it with some fiberglass drywall tape and epoxy glue. The lesson learned is to be very careful in going over curbs and stairs. If you carry nylon bags, consider putting a piece of cardboard on the bottom wire shelf to keep the bags off rough ground. I have worn holes in some of my bags dragging a few inches in getting the cart going or coming to a stop. Lastly, if the cart is piled high with non rigid bags, the long bungee cord supplied may not hold items in place. I have used extra bungee cords to help keep items fixed in a vertical position.

I have used one of these carts for the last six years carrying heavy instrument trays and large bins of implants as an orthopedic rep. I couldn't imagine doing this job without this cart, it is crucial. I have used and abused this thing so much and it just keeps going. I'm sure I have exceeded the weight limit more times than I can count. The straps are great for keeping everything on the cart and are very durable. I just fold it up and throw it in the back of my truck and its always there when I need it.

I use this cart for my sample bags. I have three to four to move at a time and they are in and out of my truck constantly. This cart makes my life so much easier because it can handle all of these bags in one trip. Only thing that annoys me is that the bungee cords get stuck once and a while if you don't store the cart properly. Otherwise I love this cart!

The company that used to make the carts we purchased went out of business, so we have been looking for the right one for about a year now. This one fits the bill perfectly and I've recommended to all of our field service managers for their technicians.

I have owned one of these carts for over 20 years and finally wore it out. When it was time to replace, I looked for an exact match. It is easily loaded, handles a heavy load with stability, and the back wheels make it a pleasure to use. The back wheels fold up allowing the back rails to slide up stairs. Wouldn't be caught dead hauling lights and equipment to a job without one of these. Not real crazy about the new handle design, but I can live with that to get the rest.

I am a full time working musician, and have used this same kart daily for over 10 years to carry my speaker cabinets, amplifier, accessory rack & various other items. The load that this little kart can comfortably handle never ceases to impress! It is absolutely essential for my business. I am able to comfortably carry in one trip what would otherwise be at least 4 trips - which is not often possible or practical. Built to last, my recent purchase is as a backup, in the event that my trusty 10 y/o is lost or stolen..... it's THAT important to me. Equally at home in a hotel lobby, suburban sidewalk, airport terminal, or city street. Note: the kart does not come with the BMX style handlebar grips as pictured [...] If you need a tough and extremely versatile luggage/equipment kart to carry your load, this is the best of the best[...]
