Got this lens as a fast, ultra wide angle option to my 16-80mm F4.0 zoom. Manual focus is easy to execute with focus peaking option on my X-T4, plus the camera's IBIS means that there is no issue no having IS in the lens. In addition, most landscapes would be essentially in focus at infinity in any case. The lens feels very well constructed and comes with a reversible hood and also includes a string pull storage pouch. Plan on using this for right city shots and wide angle landscapes. The fast aperture will be useful in low light conditions, but I have not had an opportunity to use it in this scenario. I also appreciate the clicked aperature ring, as I shot mainly in aperture priority and don't want the aperature changing inadvertently. Rokinon also has an auto-focus version of this lens for X-mount, but at twice the price, I can't see the value, seeing how easy it is to focus this lens manually and that my intended subjects are not moving.

Excellent lens, purchased for night sky photography. Stars are nice and sharp, out to the edges, with minimal chromatic aberration. Excellent value for the price.

So far I?m really impressed with this lens. It feels pretty solid (yes some of it?s plastic, but the body is not) and isn?t overly heavy. I was a little concerned about it being manual, as I?m fairly new to photography (outside of iPhone shooting!!), so wasn?t sure how I?d get on with it, but honestly I love having ultimate control over the shot, and also knowing that there is no way o can rely on automatic mode! I don?t think the dial stops are 100% accurate, but it?s certainly not a deal breaker, and honestly, I?m not looking at the dial when I turn it anyway! I got this primarily for Astro shots as a lot of people recommend it for that.

Perfect addition to my Sony A650O. The lens has Manual focus which gives you more control. The infinity use is easy to find because of the markings. Will enjoy this lens while traveling.

Very nice, relatively inexpensive manual focus lens. As wide angle don't need precise manual focus. As you need to get close to foreground subject 3' works most of the time. Nice sharp images. Not a heavy lens but not a lightweight either. Capleash interfers with focus ring (and lens cap is relatively large) so capleash got donated to another lens with AF and a tiny lenscap. Wish that Adorama included one very good lens protecting UV filter instead of sending a trio of mediocre filters.

As a total newb I had no idea what I was in for. I read some other reviews and thought people just got it because it was “less expensive” This lens is awesome and really helps perfect the manual focus technique and the photos come out great. Recommend forrrr surrreee.

I bought this lense for astrophotography but weather has not cooperated. But it also take beautiful landscape photos. Also fairly light to carry around.

It doesn't have auto-focus, so most of the time you may get pictures out of the focus.

Good quality comes with lens cap and storage bag. Can’t really beat it for the price, good for beginner astro photography.

A very well built and great performing lens for a fantastic price. If you don't already have the Fuji XF10-24, this is a very affordable way to get a wide lens for landscapes, interior architecture shots, astrophotography, etc. without breaking the bank, and I highly recommend this lens as part of a Travel Lens Kit, I have it as an extension of my 18/2 - 23/1.4 - 35/2 Fuji Primes kit, but even if you just want to have Zoom Lenses in your kit, this lens gives you an interesting 18mm Full-Frame field of view, that most zooms can't reach. The lack of AF is not an impediment at all, Manual focus is a snap with Fuji's Focus peaking, and at 12mm you're not really worried too much anyway - close up the aperture to f4-f8 and set it to infinity, and just shoot away. The Lens is made with very good quality plastics, and what appears to be chromed Brass at the mount. The controls work well, and the aperture ring is clicked - which I prefer, since I don't do Video - but i think it'll probably shoot great video.

Amazing Colors Excellent sharpness with amazing colors. This is a fully manual lens and is a great way to improve your camera skills. This lens is very wide on my a6400 as well. I would have liked to see more controlled lens flare, but you can often work around this by not shooting directly into light sources and the sun

great lens especially for the price! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is I have to remember to switch to take picture without lens for my Fuji TX2, great pictures

I am very pleased with my Rokinon 12 mm lens. Its manual focus and is everything I heard. If you sport a fujifilm remember to set your camera to "shoot without a lens". Great product.

I initially bought for the purpose of having a fast aperture wide lens for getting star-field shots at night. And while the center is good at f/2, the corners exhibit a good deal of coma, making it less useful for that purpose, unless you plan to crop. On the other hand, if you're shooting indoor scenes at night, where your primary subject is towards the center portion of the image, the lens is very useful. F/2 buys you some leeway on shutter speed and ISO so that you can get candid shots in a dimly-lit restaurant or night club. Stopped down, the coma issues mostly disappear so that by f/5.6 or f/8, it is very good, making it a suitable ultra-wide landscape and city-scape lens. For night-time cityscapes, bring a light tripod or otherwise steady the camera and stop down.

I am using it on the bmpcc4k. I use it with focus assist and it seems to me to be very sharp. It's also not too heavy which is good because I use it on a gimbal sometimes. All in all, I'd say it was a decent purchase.

Very happy with my new Rokinon 12mm lens. I'm shooting with Fuji XT10, so not the fanciest camera body. The Rokinon lens has performed great for shooting landscapes, and the Milky Way. The glass clarity is not as high quality as my other Fuji lenses, but I plan to take this lens mountaineering in South America so if I damage it, I'm not out as much $$. Remember to use the "Shooting without lens" setting. I like the solid F stop clicks and that infinity is marked on this lens. There is some vignetting at the edges.

I have the Rokinon fisheye 1.8 which is great but I wanted a lens that didn't have so much lens distortion. In Adobe Camera Raw I clicked the default settings for lens correction and entered the Rokinon 12mm. Then I transformed to. “Upright”. The final cropped image has ~50% of Topaz Studio “Dramatic HDR” filter applied. I will use this lens as a primary lens when we travel but will still take my Sony 35mm 1.8 b/c it has auto focus. The “peaking” feature helps. The photo was taken on the 2nd level of the San Francisco Ferry Building w/the Sony 6000. ISO 100 aper:8 @ 1/60 sec.

Nice, wide lens, extremely sharp. Too bad it does not work with autofocus on Sony but it is so wide that it is not so hard to make everything in focus.

This is a fast, sharp lens that does not communicate with the body of the camera (in my case, a Fujifilm X-T30). I recommend it if you know the following: you will have no EXIF data. You will need to shoot with the setting “Shoot without lens.” Beyond needing to focus manually, if you do miss focus with this lens, your image will be largely unusable. I have had an easy time nailing focus with this lens, so it has been a good choice for me. For me, the choice regarding this lens comes down to two key factors: 1) do you need to shoot at 12mm?, and 2) does your budget preclude alternatives? I am happy with my purchase, but I don’t know if I would buy this lens again, as I purchased the absolutely sublime Fujifilm XF 16mmF1.4 R WR at the same time. Yes, there is a difference in angle of view between 12mm and 16mm. However, there’s a big difference between F2 and F1.4, no autofocus and extremely fast autofocus, good glass and genuinely fantastic, legacy level glass. Choose wisely.

Sharp light and cheap

This is a FANTASTIC astro photography lens. It feels very well made. Yes it's manual focus, but raise your hand if your autofocus worked pointing the camera out into space. Don't pay for features you aren't going to use. That's why the price point on this is great. It's a fast, wide, sharp and well made prime, made for mirrorless systems. The focus ring has great dampening and you can turn it with confidence even with gloves, and the aperture ring has satisfying clicks. It is very easy t...

Exactly what I needed
By Julius S.
I used to carry around a really expensive Fujifilm 10-24mm, stabilized, F/4 lens. I would use it for landscapes on occassion and frequently would take a small number of shots with it at events, concerts or weddings. I don't think I ever went past 10mm. This lens is lighter, almost exactly the focal length I was shooting at before, several stops faster, and costs less brand new than it did to repair my delicate Fujifilm lens after a minor impact cracked an internal element. And if you have a m...

With a 98.9-degree angle of view and a rectilinear image mapping function, this lens excels in creating expansive and distortion-free images.
The large f/2.0 aperture is not just for show; it's a practical tool that enhances shooting capabilities in low-light conditions, maintaining high image quality where other lenses might falter. The optical construction is a testament to Rokinon's commitment to excellence, featuring 12 elements in 10 groups, including one aspherical lens (ASP) and one hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP), along with three ED glass elements that minimize chromatic aberration.
Technologically advanced, the 12mm NCS CS lens showcases Rokinon's most sophisticated design, highlighted by the innovative nanocrystal anti-reflective coating on two of its elements. The combination of its wide-angle perspective and fast f/2.0 aperture opens up a world of creative possibilities, ensuring that this lens is not just a tool, but an extension of the photographer's vision.
