meets expectations, very nice lens

My copy is extremely sharp and I'm partial to the colors this brand produces. Not as warm as their 85, which I think is a little too warm. Very nice bokeh for a 1.8. Auto focus audibly hunts a bit, but does nail it when the shot's taken. I got the lens to compliment the 35mm f2.8 for backpacking, When size and weight aren't an issue, I still use the samyang 85 1.4, or zeiss 50 1.4 for that matter as 75mm is neither.

High quality in small package

Nice, lightweight travel alternative to bulky zooms. High quality in small package. All three FF mini primes from Rokinon weigh less together than one high quality zoom. I did not own any primes in years and did not expect to own any again. But I was intrigued by such tiny high quality lenses. Most reviews were positive. Tried 45/1.8 first. Then 18/2.8. Now, with 75/1.8 I have more-less covered the focal range of my 16-35/2.8 and 24-105. With f-stops to spare. Before, I wasn’t even thinking about taking my FF camera on travels because of bulky zooms. Thanks to Rokinon, now I can. Quite happy with quality and size.

Smallest, lightest FF lens at its category

With this lens I completed purchase of trio of Rokinon mini lenses. All have unexpectedly high optical quality. Together they weigh almost nothing in the travel bag. It would be almost a sin for travel photographer to nitpick. With f 1.8 it is nice featherweight alternative to large bulky zooms that cover this focal length.

This Full Frame prime lens is specifically designed to provide optimal quality still images and video with Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Please note that supported functions may vary depending on camera model.

• Its 75mm focal length is perfect for portraits and candids while its compact size and lightweight design maximizes portability.
• High quality still images and video can also be enjoyed with Sony E mount APS-C sensor cameras. With APS-C sensor models its focal length is equivalent to approximately 112mm to deliver a more powerful telephoto view.
• Ten elements in nine groups, including 5 special elements (Three Extra Low Dispersion and Two High Refractive Index) and Ultra Multi Coating create results with incredible sharpness, low chromatic aberration and minimal distortion.
• Autofocusing utilizes a STM (Stepless Motor) for quiet, smooth, and precise focus that is especially important when recording video.
• The IF (Internal Focus) design prevents both changes in length and front element rotation.
• Its size, weight and shape have been ergonomically designed to match the compact nature of Sony Full Frame mirrorless camera.
• The fast F1.8 maximum aperture and nine blade circular aperture provide low light performance and beautiful bokeh.
