Shopper : Does this lens exhibit a discernible fisheye effect?JEFF M : I cant say for how it will perform on other cameras, but on a BMCC ef mount we had no fisheye whatsoever. I will say that wide open there is some VERY slight softness around the edges, but its hardly a problem. If you stop the lens down to 2.4 the softness is gone.ADAM H : It's a nice wide angle. But it doesn't give what I would call a fisheye effect. I have a different lens which is a fisheye lens, and I often have to correct the dramatic curves at the edge of the frame in After Effects for that other lens. But not for this lens; I wouldn't call this a fisheye lens.

Very good quality build. Definitely got a nice sharpness. Love the way the geared focus and aperture work too! Works really well with the Tilta Nucleus system

Sharp, bright, great picture in low light.

Sharp, bright, great picture. This turns an OK camera into a GREAT camera. It is all about the lens. Great in low light. We use this for making video announcements at our church. The Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine lens is much better than all the other photo lenses we tried in the past. We did not need a camera upgrade we needed a lens upgrade, and we found it.

Wide angle beast.

It's a very sharp lens and the build feels premium. I love the look of it and how nicely the focus and aperture rings adjust.

Even better than expected!

This Rokinon 16mm Cine lens is even better than I expected. It?s all manual but the movements are smooth, nicely weighted and predictable. It reminds me of an expensive, old-school ENG lens which is a good thing. I am very pleased with the images and the performance of this lens. You may find it large and heavy if you?re from a photography background but for a video guy, it feels reassuringly solid.

Rokinon is Great!

This lens is great! It's very cinematic and I would recommend this brand to anyone trying to get into filmmaking. I own another Rokinon lens for a micro four thirds mount camera and it is great.

Better than Advertised

This lens is an absolute pleasure. Its manual operation is smooth and fast. It is terrific in low light and delivers the shallow depth of field I was needing. Build-wise, it feels solid and is actually larger than I expected. Coupled with a 77mm circular polarizer, it's the perfect combo for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.

Build-wise, it feels solid and is actually larger than I expected. Coupled with a 77mm circular polarizer, it's the perfect combo for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.

The Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine Lens is a wide-angle lens optimized for digital cinematography. The lens produces an image circle that will cover APS-C sized sensors or smaller. The focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing for attaching a follow focus unit. The aperture ring is also de-clicked to allow for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers, who typically operates on the side of the camera.

The 16mm T2.2 lens is constructed out of 13 individual elements in 11 groups, including one aspherical and one hybrid aspherical element. Aspherical elements help minimize unwanted distortion and chromatic aberrations. The lens also has a multi-layer coating to reduce flares and maintain image contrast in bright conditions.

With an angle of view of 79.5½, the lens is well-suited for shooting landscapes, architecture, and for use in tight interior locations. A maximum aperture of T2.2 means that the lens is effective in low-light shooting and can produce a shallow depth of field when the lens is closer to the subject. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 7.87". A bayonet-mount lens hood and lens pouch come included with the lens.
