That means focusing by hand and using peaking or a focus aid is useful. I've been using nothing but manual focus lenses for the past 7 years and find that I can nail focus almost as quickly as autofocus for most situations but definitely not for sports, not bragging just saying it's a much less difficult proposition than it sounds. It only took me a few weeks of practice to really get the hang of it. . Portraits and street photography it's perfect. Sadly had to return:(....

Sadly had to return it - this seems like a fantastic lens but the used camera I bought to use it with did not work:(. I really enjoyed talking with the person at Adorama but I am disappointed that my purchase was a bust. I'm taking a photography class and cameras today are so different and confusing and complicated. I was really looking forward to this package purchase but sadly had to return the whole thing - so I can't review the actual lens and sadly it was not compatible with my other camera which really stinks - it did come with a hood lens and came in a nice pouch so that was nice.

Perfect surprise

I was pleasantly surprised with this lens. I had heard it was on the cheaper end of cine lenses, but I've come to find that only means price. The build quality is sensational. The gears move so fluidly and the quality is really great. It even comes with a lens shade that you can remove. I was highly impressed with the lens and definitely recommend to everyone.

great lense

I was looking for a longer focal length to get those shallower and flatter shots for filing. I currently have a gh4 and blackmagic cinema camera. I feel like this lens is perfect. reasonably sharp and a great value for the price. I haven't tested it for photography, but it has a very filmic look to it my opinion. especially on the black magic.

Great value

For the price you cannot beat what this little lens has to offer. As long as you are okay with manual focus, this thing is a beast! I actually used the lens to shoot video of the solar eclipse totality on my GH5 body. I was happy with what I was able to get! I made a custom solar filter (also purchased from Adorama) to fit the lens hood of course. Picture cropped in post.

Amazing Lens

I was debating if I should get this lens or not. The reviews were great and some OK. How good can an inexpensive lens be when the great ones cost 10x more.
