The Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine Aspherical Lens for Nikon F features a "De-clicked" Aperture to reduce any noise and jerking sound while shooting. This lens is follow-focus compatible to provide a convenient, quick and precise method for controlling the focus on the camera without the need to constantly reach over to the front of the lens. The 85mm T1.5 Cine Lens is best used for shooting video.  The Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine Lens produces a slightly telephoto angle-of-view on full-frame sensors. It features a very fast maximum aperture of T1.5 and an 8 blade iris, for shallow depth of field with attractive bokeh. The focus and aperture control rings are outfitted with industry standard gearing, which provides an interface for working with a traditional follow focus. The aperture control ring has also been "declicked", which facilitates smooth iris pulls.  The 85mm has a minimum focus distance of 3.6'. Internal focusing minimizes the effects of lens breathing, which insures a more consistent angle-of-view when adjusting focus. The lens is composed of 9 elements in 7 groups, including one aspherical element to reduce spherical aberrations. In addition, a multi-coated elements help improve light transmission.

Sadly had to return it - this seems like a fantastic lens but the used camera I bought to use it with did not work:(. I really enjoyed talking with the person at Adorama but I am disappointed that my purchase was a bust.  I'm taking a photography class and cameras today are so different and confusing and complicated. I was really looking forward to this package purchase but sadly had to return the whole thing - so I can't review the actual lens and sadly it was not compatible with my other camera which really stinks - it did come with a hood lens and came in a nice pouch so that was nice.

I was pleasantly surprised with this lens. I had heard it was on the cheaper end of cine lenses, but I've come to find that only means price. The build quality is sensational. The gears move so fluidly and the quality is really great. It even comes with a lens shade that you can remove. I was highly impressed with the lens and definitely recommend to everyone.

The 85mm is probably my favorite in the Cine DS line. It's sharp at all apertures produces a great image. Well built body and solid feel.

Best of this line

The lens is good. The bundle came with 77mm filters. It should have been 72mm filters.

Rikinon 85mm lens

I was looking for a longer focal length to get those shallower and flatter shots for filing. I currently have a gh4 and blackmagic cinema camera. I feel like this lens is perfect. reasonably sharp and a great value for the price. I haven't tested it for photography, but it has a very filmic look to it my opinion. especially on the black magic.

great lense

For the price you cannot beat what this little lens has to offer. As long as you are okay with manual focus, this thing is a beast! I actually used the lens to shoot video of the solar eclipse totality on my GH5 body. I was happy with what I was able to get! I made a custom solar filter (also purchased from Adorama) to fit the lens hood of course. Picture cropped in post.

Great glass for the price. The plastic housing does make them feel a little cheap, but they produce a great image

 This Lens is fast and sharp, and has a short turn for focus.  Great quality at low-cost. 

High-quality low-cost

I was debating if I should get this lens or not.  The reviews were great and some OK.  How good can an inexpensive lens be when the great ones cost 10x more.  I decided to purchase this lens along with other focal lengths and my did I make the right choice.  The image is just stunning and the fast aperture is awesome.  If I had to I would buy these again.  I can't wait to use these in future projects.
