I purchased this lens used back in 2016 for my Nikon D5200 (its 21mm on a crop sensor camera). I can't believe I can't believe how much time has gone by.. I primarily use this for milky way and nightscape photography. The 1st time I took it out I was amazed at the results from light polluted Houston. I thought there was no way I'd capture the milky way from my backyard. Lo and behold there it was. The darkest skies I've been able to use this in as Bortle 4. Any time I go out at night this lens is definitely in my bag and 1st one on the camera. I'll attach some photos please forgive my lack of editing skills. If you're looking for a cost effective lens that won't break the bank I would definitely get one of these. Shot at F2.8 25 sec, and if memory serves iso 3200

this lens is very sharp and has proven to be one of the very best lens (at any price) for astrophotography. It also works great for landscapes.

I'm still trying to get used to it. It's got a real wide view. I keep forgetting that it has a manual focus and have retake the picture after viewing it. But I like the lens.

I purchased this lens primarily for astrophotography. It is superb! Very sharp edge to edge. There is a little more vignetting than the Nikon 14mm, but if you shoot at f3.2 or a little more, that will reduce vignetting considerably and Camera Raw or LightRoom can correct it anyway. Build quality is good. Much less costly than one would expect for a lens of this quality.

An effective but inexpensive little light bucket. Captured my first Milky Way photos with it and they came out far better than expected, especially for my first attempt at astrophotography. The Rokinon also turns out to be a great wide angle landscape lens. Very sharp. It also captures amazing sunstars at smaller apertures. Having lots of fun with this lens.

The lens hasn't gotten much use yet, but the few shots I've taken look awesome. Makes our very small house look like a mansion.

Works well in M mode with my Nikon D3400 DSLR. Focus for Milky Way pictures just short of infinity.

Great lens for star/night photography (haven’t used it for anything else). While the lens is known for some quality control issues related to focusing, our copy seems to be a good one. Timely delivery from Adorama/Shoprunner

For a real estate photographer this lens is a bargain. Probably on of my best buys. Small and light compared with other expensive lens like Nikon 14-24. This lens is made for real estate interiors. You can clean the distortion easily on lightroom and video distorsión as well on Premiere. Manual focus is ok, not a big deal.

The build of this lens is better than I thought it would be, although the focus ring is on the "stiff" side. Materials; mostly plastic-don't drop it! It performs way above it's "cost" level; I had heard about the sharpness of this lens and, it seems, it is true! Very interesting to use for landscapes & astrophotography. Good for inside shots when you want to get a large group of people together. When used in bright light, I did notice some "ghosting" at certain angles to the light; stopping down seemed to help. In all; a surprisingly good item.

So far I have had mixed results. A few good shots and some very unsharp photos. One thing for sure is that you can't trust the little dot that tells you that you are focused properly. Not sure whether or not to send it back and try another lens.

I already had a 16-35 mm lens; what could I do with a 14mm? Well it was $ cheaper than a Nikon 14mm, so I thought, take a chance and find out. Everything I read about this lens said it was a winner except when it wasn't. Some reviews gave it top marks but warned to look out for lemons. However, it has been my experience that whatever I had bought from Adorama, whether new, used or refurbed, has been good goods--no lemons. I took a chance. I love this lens. The fact that it is manual focus is not a problem because Nikon has a range finder that is almost as easy to use as auto-focus. And focus is good from center to the edges (maybe you could do a little better for an extr $) Your images will be super-wide and that means distortion. The Rokinon produces a strange "mustache" distortion, that is not noticible if you are shooting landscape or astro, otherwise you can correct it in Lightroom or PS (if you are shooting in raw). Besides why are you using a super-wide lens if you don't want distortion? Did I mention, I love this lens?

For the price, this cannot be beat. I love how expansive my view is with this lens. It is pretty sharp too.

This lens is very sharp, I use it for night work so I don't miss the autofocus. Pretty good build quality but for $ it's more then you would expect.

Only used it once, but so far can't complain. I would probably give it five stars if it had auto-focus.

Just don’t like it. Can’t seem to get it perfectly focused. No matter how wide or shallow or lite or dark. Post production not helping much either. It’s ok. Just not great.

I LOVE the perspective I get with this super wide angle lens. Sometimes (perhaps me not knowing how to fully use it yet, but I will get thick vignetting around the right or left side and then other times now-perhaps my f-stop setting is the issue?! Hmm...regardless, overall I am very pleased with this lens. Price? Build? Love it both!

Purchased lens to photo the Painted Churches of Texas. Unfortunately it arrived two days after I left home. I've used it to photo a carnival and another church. The quality of the print is outstanding. Far better than I expected. I also own Rokinon's 8mm. Am very pleased with both purchases.

Happy with the lens so far; mf takes some getting used to. Found it easier if I used my reading glasses when looking through the lens. Have not figured out yet how the “automatic” chip for Nikon.

I am a beginner photographer and the photos attached are the first i am testing and more ore less remember the settings so added in the photo comment, one thing to note is that the ring information is accurate... the infinite is right and 0.28 too... i have read from older versions that was not accurate... the chip information is OK... in many cases shows the green light on when is on focus... but mainly all the photos in infinite settings are on focus... so, i am not an expert... my camera is a Nikon D3200 and i am happy with the results!

Love the lens. Provides crisp, clean images. Only recommend that it be identified with an ultra wide angle filter holder for wide angle shots over water and to add steps for long duration shots

This lens is exactly what it was advertised to be. It is pretty sharp and has a very wide angle of view. Not being able to accept filters is a bit of a bummer, but I knew that when I bought it, so I can't complain about it.

I bought this lens for Milkyway and landscape photography. It was recommended to me by several professional photographers that I know, who's opinion I highly value. I think they just came out with the autofocus version for around ($). This guy is perfect for what I bought it for. The price at about ($) was very affordable for this quality of lens.

I'm really enjoying this lens, it's nice to have the extra wide angle for the tight shots, as well as the large landscapes.

Good lens at a good price. I wish the hood wasn't a permanent attachment so I could use filters though.

The saying goes is that you get what you pay for.
By HARVEY D.
The saying goes is that you get what you pay for. With this lens you get a lot more, in fact that in spite of it being a non-vibration reduction, manual focus lens, it is an incredible bargain for both the pro and casual photographer who is looking for a great ultra wide-angle lens but is on a tight budget. Having the automatic chip built into the lens allows the camera (in my case a D600) to indicate when the lens is in focus by having arrows direct you to which direction to turn the focus ...

The Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED MC Super Wide Angle Lens with Automatic Chip for Nikon gives you approximately a 115deg. view with dramatic results when used with a full frame digital camera or 35mm film camera. It includes a special chip that allows the lens to work with the camera's focus confirm, auto exposure, auto metering and auto white balance functions.
With hybrid aspherical lenses, you will produce sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations. This manual focus 14mm lens focuses as close as 0.9' (0.27m) from the lens and has a built-in petal-type lens hood.
With some cameras, Shutter Lock must be disengaged on the camera's menu.
