Incredible lens for the price

We bought this lens after having a blast shooting with the 85mm and 35mm. The 14 is AWESOME for wide shots on the video side. YES, it is all manual, but for video shooters it's great. We use them on the d800 and it looks great.

amazing value

Once you get past the lack of autofocus, which at 14mm is really not a necessity due to the immense depth of field, you'll realize this lens is right up there with the best ultra wides available. Even at f2.8 pretty sharp and low coma (star photos), and at 5.6 or 8 just as good as lenses costing 6 times as much. The chipped version isn't really required on a higher end Nikon body, since you can tell the body about non-cpu lenses. I have a lot of old Nikkors, so I am used to dialing in the settings. Can't use filters with it, but then you can't with the 14-24mm Nikon either. The aperture ring is a little stiff when new, but not impossible to move. Feels very solid. I also have the 85mm f1.4 and both are extremely sharp. Waiting for the Rokinon tilt-shift that was just announced.
