As a music photographer I've always been drawn to a fisheye for added angles of interest. However, I couldn't go wrong with a Landscape shot and I'm excited to see what this lens will do for architecture

This is a great value if you want to be able to take fun every day photos or stunning landscapes, especially sky night shots. The caveat is that you have to be experienced in fully manual photography including focus and metering.

Great value for an APS-C 8mm, however the Key Features listing (at the time I got mine) is misleading listing it as a Full Frame lens, it is not. So read the entire description.

Great IQ for the price. Good size as well, aperture 3.5 is good for general shooting

The lens is basic, great for a beginner but not what I need and not a good fit for my camera. I know, I was trying to get by with a lower end camera saving $ but sometimes you have to pay more to get what you need or works for you. I use a Nikon D750 and the mayor problem for me was that it will ONLY work on A & S setting, which I don't use regularly unless you are using additional lighting and support, so horrible if you are trying to shot indoors with poor light (built in flash will not work) The hood is NOT removable so if you want more freedom, you are stuck with the shadow of it.

I love using this lens! It's lightweight and inexpensive. I use F-8 and put on 'infinity'...I DO NOT FOCUS this lens and images are super sharp! Distortion can be interestly controlled. I have recommended this lens to a few folks and they also enjoy using it. I especially enjoy using it indoors, in small rooms, for architecture interesting compositions, for autos, motorcycles, etc. I use it on a Nikon D7000.

Very nicly made lens. Fits and functions on my D7100 and D80. The lens hood fits well but has to be oriented in one of two positions.

Amazing value for low $200s. Surprized to find it was a completely manual lens thuogh. Haven't used a lens that didn't talk to the camera for along time. But not a showstopper. Worth the money.

I like wide angle lenses. My nikon 10-24 is usually used between 10 and 12. Ken Rockwell reviewed this lens in a positive way. I bought it. It is a lot wider than my non fisheye 10-24. The fisheye effect is not as pronounced as others. The lens is very well built. I like this lens.

Bridges, buildings, cityscapes, rivers, lakes, trees, towers -- just about anything takes on new life and you see them in a new way. Sharp as a tack if you set it on f8, focus at 5' and forget it. The most fun I've had photographically in a long time. I'm using it on an FX (D600), but in crop mode because the rectangular crop can be so much more striking than the cliche circle.

Sharp lens. Tremendous depth of field. Easy to use. Already put thru its paces and still finding more uses. Unpeels another layer of creativity.

This is such a fun lens to use. I paid over $300 for it and think it is worth every penny. It's not so tough to use; just set the aperture to f/8 and focus around 5-8 feet. From then on, everything is in focus and just adjust the shutter speed for exposure adjustment. Its huge field of view puts all your subjects in a different perspective. Moving vertical objects (walls, trees, etc.) toward the edge of the frame really shows off the circular effect. I don't use it for all (or even the majority) of my shots, but those times I have draws "oohs" & "ahhs" from my friends. This is not a replacement for any standard lenses, but if you have the basics covered, give this a shot!

You really get what you pay for. I've only used it on my D70 as the D300 is getting fixed so that could be part of the problem. Not having autofocus is very hard with a fisheye. You also need to manually adjust the aperture despite that is says it will be compatible if you attach the lens while the aperture ring is set to 22. The composition of the photos is at certain lights (usually bright lights) grainy and it seems that even the in focus subjects are still somewhat out of focus.
