Chems stay good for about 18 rolls over a few months, probably my favorite c41 chem for room temperature developing

The first thing to note is that C41 developing is a pretty standardized process, so the difference between this or that company isn't going to matter all that much in terms of quality. That said, I trust Rollei as a company, and the results have been very "predictable", which is a godsend when it comes to developing film. I chose the 2.5L kit, which I use alongside the Patterson 5-reel tank. What I do is split all the chemicals in half, mix the first half to make 1.25L of solution, and save the rest for a fresh new batch later. I then have just enough solution to develop four reels of 35mm film, or 2 reels of 120 film, at a time. And if you get the Cinestill accordion-style 1L containers, there's actually enough extra room to fit 1.25L of solution just fine. For the other half of the chemicals, I use those fillable "bag of wine" style bags (available on Amazon in a kit for like $10) to keep out the air so everything lasts longer (oxygen exhausts the chemicals more so than does light, just FYI). My only complaint (hence the 4 stars), and I haven't really tested the limits of it yet so I'll update once I do, is that it says the blix solution can only be re-used twice. That means if you're developing 4 rolls at a time (and splitting everything in half like me), you can only get 24 rolls out of the full kit, when it says theoretically you should be able to get 40 rolls. It doesn't really make sense because I'm using the minimum amount of solution for the rolls I'm developing at once, so I'm not really sure how you would get 40 rolls without re-using the blix more than twice. But such is life... Also, the instructions aren't super clear so to save you a little research/batch of mistakes, mix the developer at 120ºF and the blix at 125ºF. Also it says use the chemicals at 100ºF, but I usually go closer to 102ºF because you start to lose heat the second they're removed from the warming bath. Also, for the blix ? doing 4 rolls at a time ? I usually go 6min for the first batch, 7min on the second batch, and then 10min on the third batch. Seems to work just right. Overall a solid kit with again very predictable and high quality results!

I am not a chemist. It was easy to mix the stuff for c-41 in this kit. I got 31 of the 36 on my first roll to come out perfect.
