Let the RME 1RU 12 Port Digital Patch Bay MADI Router and Format Converter be the cornerstone of your professional audio setup, offering unparalleled sophistication and advanced routing capabilities. This innovative device is the culmination of eight years of success, drawing from the legacy of the MADI Bridge and MADI Converter to present a solution that will inspire MADI systems for years to come.
Crafted for audio professionals, this high-quality MADI Router is an essential tool for seamless signal routing, providing a bridge between MADI devices from any manufacturer with unmatched flexibility. It serves as a versatile format converter, adeptly handling optical and electrical signals, and functions simultaneously as a signal repeater, distributor, and merger of multiple MADI signals.
The device's low latency and fast recovery from signal interruptions are akin to point-to-point connections, yet it offers the adaptability of networked audio, where any connected device can access any channel on the network. At its core, the MADI Router effortlessly passes input signals to the desired outputs without alteration, preserving any embedded status or remote control data within the MADI stream.
For intricate audio channel arrangements within a MADI output stream, the device boasts four independent matrices, each capable of reflecting 768 IN x 64 OUT audio channels. Users can source any channel from any valid MADI input to each crosspoint matrix, with the output then directed to any of the 12 robust outputs.
Designed with ease of use in mind, the MADI Router is the only device in its class that can be fully programmed and controlled without external software. An integrated TFT display on the front panel vividly shows the device's status and guides users through all necessary settings. Interaction is facilitated by four buttons and two rotary encoders, ensuring a user-friendly experience.
The device's AutoSave feature ensures that all settings are preserved and automatically recalled within seconds of powering on. Additionally, 15 internal presets allow for the saving, recalling, previewing, and preselecting of routings.
On the rear, a diverse array of connectors ensures maximum compatibility and versatility for various use cases. Four optical and four coaxial MADI inputs accept signals at any sampling rate and channel format, while the outputs can transmit refreshed or newly created MADI signals over significant distances. The innovative MADI TP ports introduce the convenience of using common twisted pair network cables for connections and power transmission.
All twelve MADI ports are symmetrically grouped for easy identification, and the word clock input and output offer additional synchronization options. The device is powered by two redundant 100W switching power supplies, providing ample power for the MADI Router and up to eight additional passive devices.
The RME 1RU 12 Port Digital Patch Bay MADI Router and Format Converter is a testament to professional audio engineering, offering a sophisticated, high-quality, and innovative solution for audio signal routing and conversion in live sound, recording studios, and post-production environments.
